Khawaja is one of the worst top order players of spin I have seen for ages. Has he corrected that at all?

Please stop trolling. We're all depressed enough as it is, let alone when you point out how much talent we've let go :(

(P.S. You forgot Brownlie)

Such a shame Ryan Carters didn't back up with another cracking season last year.

Gonna have a real mid 80s vibe to the team but without the grumpy old stager leading the show. Hopefully Smitteh is up for the challenge because the transition just got put on fast forward.

How would you know? He was usually out before the spinners had a bowl.

Desperately need Silk to have a very productive summer.

With the current goings on and Smith having to take over the captaincy sans Watson, Clarke, Haddin and Rogers (and Harris), the selectors should offer Rogers whatever he wants to go on til the end of the Aust summer. We're losing a few hundred tests worth of experience.

What I fear will happen is a return to revolving door selections. If your name isn't Darsh then 2 good games gets you in and 2 bad ones get you axed.

How many shield games before the first home test?

He won't play the day night test against nz though no matter what you offer him sadly.

I don't think it will be that bad really. It's not like we've been winning overseas anyway, and our quicks will keep us in it at home. It will take a while to sort out which of the new blood has what it takes but we'll stay top 4.

Yep, pretty much my view as well

Give guys like Lynn and MMarsh time and I reckon they will be fine

Piss off proven failures like SMarsh as he is a catalyst for batting collapses

Probably need someone "senior" like Cowan to hold up an end for a while

Bomb the living daylights out of the opposition with our quicks at home and let the cards fall where they may away

Dunno. With Harris gone, Siddle unlikely to be picked and Johnson coming off a questionable tour... Obviously tons of talent but I could very much see a less than successful home summer of bowling.

Young guys have been carrying the attack for a while now so not overly concerned

Need to bear in mind Harris was only half fit last summer and didn't play in the WI, Siddle was dropped more than a year ago and MJ has been 3rd wheel for a few series

Yeah, I basically think this is the only strategy we've got now. I can't stress enough how important I think Cowan would be at the top of the order now.

Cowan's a nice shout. Seems like a switched on dude too, experience could be valuable as an ally to Smith. Was he captaining Tasmania?

Could be a good VC for a year or two.
