My squads, pending Shield form and fitness (and acknowledging some degree of squad incumbency wrt Stoinis). Assuming two full squads for the sake of it.

1. Burns
2. Warner
3. Khawaja
4. Smith
5. Head
6. Patterson
7. Paine
8. Cummins
9. Starc
10. Hazlewood
11. Lyon

12. Harris
13. Wade
14. Stoinis
15. Richardson
16. Pattinson
17. O'Keefe

1. Renshaw
2. Bancroft
3. Silk
4. Labuschagne
5. Maxwell
6. Pucovski
7. Carey
8. Siddle
9. Swepson
10. Tremain
11. Bird

12. Ferguson
13. Lehmann
14. Doran
15. Neser
16. Sayers
17. Behrendorff
18. Agar

Would love to see some Ashton Turner end-of-season heroics propel him to an Aus A spot tbh.

Bambino, I don't really care. He was right if you substituted the word "player" with "fast bowler" in the original post.
Well yeah, if you substitute that it would be right. But I was responding to what was actually written; by someone else, not you. You can join in that's fine. But maybe not snarkily correct me when you haven't comprehended the original post? Just a suggestion. Can this also be the last word please? Up to you. If only to deprive a bored brah from trolling. Why a grown man would want to behave like a mean girl is puzzling.

Hey if you took it that I was trying to correct you, and you took offence then I'm sorry you saw it that way. I never intended any offence, nor did I intend to start a debate. I just pointed out that he'd left out a key bit of info because I'd literally just checked out the exact same stats myself.

I don't think they'll take more than 24 players total.

Shield form pending, this is my XI and A team:

Burns
Warner
Khawaja
Smith
Head
Patterson
Paine (c) (w/k)
Cummins
Starc
Lyon
Hazlewood

Renshaw/Bancroft/Hughes (whoever has the best tail end to the season)
Harris
Labaschagne
Handscomb (c)
Maxwell/S Marsh/M Marsh (depending on how vindictive the selectors feel)
Pucovski
Wade (w/k)
Pattinson
Siddle
Richardson
Holland

Reserves: Neser, Tremain

Basically the only spot that's up for grabs in the first XI is Burns' spot. A great tail end to the shield season could see Harris leapfrog him again.

wow no one was trying to correct you at all, let alone snarkily. Stephen was just clarifying the unclear post that you took issue with (excessively, for some reason).

This has all been very strange from you tbh

Cartwright is a serious batting talent but last season when he got bowled what was probably a record number of times he obviously had to go back to the drawing board a bit with his technique. I wouldn't be surprised if he was back at some point in the next couple of seasons but he'd be well out of contention right now.

Fair enough. Shake hands and that's the end of it.

Starc to miss India odis (pectoral injury). Dave Saker resigns as assistant coach. Troy Cooley is back ... for now.

Ffs why isn't Wade getting a run. Who does Carey have dirt on?

ODI squad:

Finch
Cummins
Carey
Behrendorff
Coulter- Nile
Handscomb
Khawaja
Lyon
S Marsh
Maxwell
J Richardson
K Richardson
Short
Stoinis
Turner
Zampa

Likely first XI:

Finch
Carey
Khawaja
S Marsh
Handscomb
Stoinis
Maxwell
Cummins
J Richardson
Behrendorff
Zampa

I was hoping they'd give Lynn a run over Khawaja. Wade in, Carey out is an obvious call that makes too much sense for the selectors.

With NCN, K Richardson, Lyon and Turner all likely to be sitting on the bench I feel the bowling strength is pretty good. Batting- wise the team has a lot of work to do.

Fmd I can't believe we're letting Mr mediocre keep wicket.

Wade should certainly be well back in consideration for the limited overs teams. I may not believe in him against the red ball, but for limited overs he is absolutely the most in form wicketkeeper-batsmsn in the country

Why the **** do they think Troy Cooley is an appropriate option? He's terrible.

The only appropriate options for bowling coach are Craig McDermott and Ryan Harris.

The continued ignorance of Wade is genuinely terrible. We don't need players who have the potential to be good in four years, we need players who are good now. Carey has consistently proven he isn't up it batting wise.
