Australian test selection 2018/19

It's ok for someone to have mental health issues but he missed 4 shield matches because of them. Mental health issues take a long time to work through. I'd be very surprised if he's fully recovered. Throwing him into the side now could have a devastating impact on his life and career.
I'm sure the selectors and himself would have a better idea of the risk of that than us tbh

If they do take a second spinner, I have no idea who it would be.

Could be any of Agar, SOK, Holland or Swepson.

I didn't listen to that audio but read the article.

Pucovski has almost certainly developed these mental health issues due to his concussions. He's had too many and at too young of an age. It will be something he battles for a long time in the same way a lot of pro footballers do.

I do want him to have a successful cricket career. I just how that if he is picked he's up for it.

We all want the best for him. He’s not your patient is he? If not then I doubt you or anyone else here can know where he’s at mentally. He could be battling this disease for a long time on and off. He’ll be ok I think

If Pucovski debuts in Brisbane, he will be 20 and have played 9 FC games. Here is the company he will join.

Warne 7 (23)
McGrath 8 (23)
Healy 8 (24)
Bradman 9 (20)
Harvey 11 (19)
S. Waugh 11 (20)

Concussion issues aside, exciting times to see if he's a once in a generation test player

Joe Burns should have been there from the beginning. Pucovski's two big totals are hard to ignore when the biggest problem for Australia at the moment is guys not cashing in and getting 100's...

I dont want to come across as a jerk, but you really have no way of knowing if this is true or not.

Pucovski did kill it like not many before in the under age stuff and then to start his FC career like he has really does show signs of talent being an over-riding factor for him.

Watching him bat. He has the cut, drive and pull for the quicks but really like how he reads length against spin. Presses forward and rocks back with the cut/back-foot drive.

All that being said. I reckon he will be the batsman to miss out. He won't be missing out on any meaningful cricket anyway.

I know this doesn't play a part, but there'd be a sense of fairness/justice is both Renshaw and Burns were restored at the top of the order.

Both were called in as emergencies for the final Test in South Africa post-Sandpaper Gate, and had two days to prepare.

Burns, who's already made three Test centuries, top-scored in the 2nd innings of that Test and then inexplicably was not even selected in the wider squad for Australia's next Test series in the UAE.

The treatment of Renshaw has been even more ordinary. His last Test in Australia he made 140, he then goes on his first overseas tour to the hardest place of all for Australians (India) and makes the second-most runs out of all the Australians in the Tests....he then inexpliicably is dropped for the next Test against England at home - all because he failed in a couple of Shield games at the start of the Summer.

Crazy that Maxwell was told not to take up the county contract by....no-one
Langer looks a tosser after that presser where he was saying, “are you certain that’s what happened?” The people want to know why Maxwell etc aren’t being chosen. It’s hit the fan when we’ve lost at home to an Asian side for the first time ever. Can’t keep hiding behind crap like he and others have been wheeling out “nobody putting their hand up”,”better people is more important than better players” or whatever it is.

Of course I'm not a doctor and I'm not his doctor but the correlation between concussion and mental illness is well known. Even a single concussion can have long term consequences.
