Can't believe how bad Jordan Silk has had it the past couple of years. He absolutely looked the business two or three seasons ago.

Edit: Just checked his numbers, he's now averaging 29 in FC cricket. fmd that's tragic

I dunno. I reckon the talk around Silk was centred more around his occasional fielding brilliance that his batting.

he burst on the scene as a successful First Class opening batsman long before most people knew he could field well

Well I generally think of when he took a catch as sub fielder against SL in 2012. Made his FC debut a couple of months later. Hasn't done much since 13/14 though. Tassie can't be in a good spot if they're opening with him.

He's still playing under 23s stuff as well. It's just a shame he hasn't really kicked on from the promise he showed early on.

If he'd only been the Son of Boonie he couldhave made one FC ton as a 20 year old then got picked on and off for Australia for the next decade.

Still plays grade, not exactly taking so many wickets as to be picked, 12 wickets from 9 matches with a best of 3/15.

I don't know if SOK in is the no brainer everyone is saying.

If Adelaide is expected to swing with the pink ball again I'd half expect Maxwell in to bat 6 and be the sole spinner, with 4 seam options. The #8 possibly picked as a bowling all rounder; Faulkner if fit, Marsh if not. Dorff may be a chance IMO if he takes wickets next shield game.

Want to see random crazy selections of unknown players. Just for giggles. Pick six batsmen 25 or under, one from each state, averaging the most in grade cricket. Seven if one of them is a keeper too. Then pick the three best averaging seam bowlers in grade cricket from across the country and one spinner on the same basis. **** it would be good. They couldn't do worse than this lot, and no **** will know who they are. It'll be gold.
