I'm loathe to give Handscomb the gloves full time. He's a part timer and nothing more.

And Wade is the form batsman at domestic level so there's not any point in keeping him out any longer. Carey just isn't a great ODI player.
As I said Wade is definitely the clear option right now. Also as I said Handscomb is only really a feasible option if the selectors are refusing to go to Wade, and he's still a superior package, and a better option for the team, to Carey at this stage.

They've got themselves into a fix here, because Carey's been named VC but isn't a good enough ODI bat to justify his place over Wade or others, and now Finch's form has slumped completely so if they were to drop Finch and Carey they'd be dropping the whole leadership package.

CA has really ****ed themselves over in so many ways with the stupid bans. Might as well bring Wade in as keeper, batsman and captain for the WC the way things are going!

Stoinis is Oz ODI player of the year, but averaged under 30 with the bat and over 35 with the ball. Am I missing something?

Our two best bats didn't play. He basically played more games than everyone and wasn't woeful. SMarsh was very good and could have won it, but basically there were no other stand outs besides SMarsh and Stoinis.

I was surprised Marsh didn't get it tbh. Was feast or famine though and Stoinis being an all rounder meant that off he failed with the bat he could still chip in with a couple of wickets and pick up points that way.

He’s definitely the new public favourite isn’t he? Good to see Lyon’s stock falling.

Since when has having a good lid or not been a relevant criteria to judge spin bowlers by?

I'm an ugly weedy unathletic bastard, that's why I bowl legspin.

Are you sure that's what Stoinis averaged during the voting period? I am asking genuinely as the voting period is always slightly annoying how some matches during one season count and others don't.

Has Steve O'Keefe had is cards marked in all forms? For mine he is probably the best short form spinner in Aus.
