I remember that otherwise dire ODI series in England where Stanlake was pretty much the lone bright spot, bowled very we that series, what stood out to me is he was bowling a better, more challenging length. It's a shame that his development almost completely flatlined after that.

Mentioned it before, but speaking of QLD quicks, I really quite like the look of Blake Edwards tbh

Is he disappointed that the Vics have only won 4 of the last 5 shields and were poised to make the final this year against a team they had beaten during the season before the season was cut short ?

Siddle, Tremain, Harper, Gotch, MShort, and a couple of the younger quicks like Perry for example are all people I've seen linked to elsewhere. Hardly a groundbreaking scoop hot off the presses, most of these rumours have been fairly well circulated already

this is pretty shocking seeing how they were trumpeting a large asset reserve only a few years ago, close to $200 million. The reserves were this high, as I recall, in part to have in case of an emergency (ie India cancelling a tour)

i'm sure they'll try to blame the players

As has been observed about other big sports in Oz, COVID-19 has exposed the complacent and over-indulgent sporting administrations that run them.

There have been billion dollar deals everywhere, enduring sports are servants of TV, yet all the money seems to have disappeared into thin air.

CA looks particularly culpable considering they only missed a couple of matches before this hit. Why did they take the big money to go to pay-TV when it provides no protection in a time like this?

Frankly, this all suggests CA have been derelict in their duty and a new better organisation should be created from this mes.

Totally agreed. Perhaps they remember how divisive he was when he and Stillman were running things in the mid-90s and think he's not worth considering.

Frankly it's not good enough from CA. Where has all the money gone? They've had a full summer and winter schedule over the last year and unless the shield final is really worth that much (lol) this speak of squandered wealth.

Pretty sure that CA has a massive budget for development of live *********

IF MyCricket can do it then it’s all but guaranteed that CA has hosed tens of millions up against the wall in this alone

why host the IPL when we can host the far superior BBL

if its the only form of cricket available in the world we'll secure the Indian viewing market regardless

Coz you would lose money hosting the BBL as its your own tournament, with whatever social distancing rules that may exist around then. But hosting the IPL, the BCCI would pay you an assured sum. Shocked I have to explain this tbh.


And IPL > BBL on a global scale.
