I see that Scott Walter is still kicking around the grade scene taking a bunch of poles. He had an equally fast fall from grace. Took a heap at state level, was dropped and never heard from again.

Dan Christian back for Vics, must be his last chance.
Steve O'keefe recalled,NSW batsmen keep place, how many more chances do they have.
Uppal scored 130 and took 4 wkts, whats he got to do.

He's in the same class as Tremain - excellent servants for their state but I really hope our bowling stocks don't deplete to the point that they are picked for tests.

Whatever happened to McDermott Jr? He was a regular for QLD a couple of years back and is nowhere to be seen now.
Except Feldman's 33, and Tremain is 26.

I think Tremain looks a better bowler watching him, too -- a little bit quicker and more movement. Feldman is an accuracy+bounce bowler, which is fine, but it puts a lower ceiling on it all.

Plus, Feldman is dickhead, so there's that.

Where does that last comment come from? He's actually very quiet and reserved in person.

Even with his new-ball burst yesterday, Siddle has taken 13 wickets @ 47 this season. Probably only getting a spot on reputation now.
Siddle's got a fair bit of media coverage over the last 24 hours by saying publicly he should be picked for the 2019 Ashes.

A smart PR move that will probably help ensure he remains safe in the Vic side... especially as the articles I've read about it have basically accepted it as fact and have ignored the fact of how poor he's been this Shield season.

So NSW have finally added another batsman, about time.

Jarrod Freeman for Tasmania the first player born in the 2000's in Shield cricket. Was a part of our recent u19 team but only played one game.

Interesting to see D'arcy Short listed to open for WA, most of his first class appearances have been in the middle to lower order. Will be interesting to see what approach he takes, will he look play his shots and put the bowlers under pressure

I dunno how much to read into the batting lineup they've listed given Agar is at 4 and a wicket keeper batsman (Philippe), playing I believe as a specialist bat, is at 11.

I suspect Short probably will open anyway (with Philippe, most likely), but yeah no guarantees yet.

The lineup I was going off was on the scorecard to the side of the CA livestream, had a top 5 of Short, Phillipe, Cartwright, Stoinis and Turner. That seems plausible enough to me but will have to wait and see.

How excellent for Moises and Dean to turn their seasons from sh*t to sh*tty in one match
