Maybe because they know Maxwell will be back and they don't want to mess with anyone else's batting spots

Maybe partly that, but probably primarily because he's an opener.

Don't know much about Vines, but he's looked alright. Made a Futures League century fairly recently I think

I'm still shaking my head at the side NSW selected. Playing in Perth with a Duke ball and going in with four specialist batsmen, Nev at six and Copes at seven. Not surprised they did it, but it's ****ing terrible selection. Everyone who has played with the Duke has said it's swung around corners so you weaken your batting then get disappointed at being rolled for 200.

I like how you still care. PEWS and me and the rest are just whatever at this point. of course one of the seamers should have missed out for Mad Dog (and for me it would have Sandhu) but that's just NSW.

nick larkin threatened to beat his average but fall short. it seems henriques is playing as a bowler only. moz, of course, averages about 8 in matches where he's doing that. bring in robot coaches and selectors

I'm not sure why Richardson is so insistent on going around the wicket to the leftie with this amount of movement. He's greatly cutting down both the edge and the lbw for wicket potential. Perhaps he struggles to get the ball to swing against the angle over the wicket.

Oh, and Bevilaqua's hair makes me want to vomit.

Just noticed Jackson Bird limped off the field mid over yesterday, and seemingly hasn't returned. Not sure if this may put his place on the South Africa tour in doubt.

Sayers has definitely been below his best this game, somewhat uncharacteristically he has looked the the least effective of the SA seamers.
