As someone who's always happy to bag selectors for off the wall selections, I'm going to make one of my own and say Faulkner should play in India as a left arm fast tweaker, bowling lots of cutters and variations off a short run with the keeper up to the stumps.

I know it sounds crazy but it might work.

Moises should give up bowling. There's no place in cricket for dibbly dobbly medium pacers. Just concentrate on batting ffs, and be a partnership breaker.

Look, it can't be any worse than the spin options we have currently who haven't worked on the SC since, like, forever. I thought Bracken ought to have been used the same way when he was playing in the late 2000s. He'd have been better at it than Forkers tbh.

Plus, the shits and giggles of Wade standing up to someone of his pace while the ball is doing a fair bit will be hilarious.

Wonder if Faulkner making runs pissed him off also cause they're practically direct selection-rivals.

btw Forkers should be playing every Test for Australia. He would do just as well as any other 3rd seamer unless Pattinson gets fit.

I've seen a couple of spots recently on Derek Underwood and Colin Miller

Obviously you cant expect someone to be as good as the former but if I was a Faulkner, I'd definitely be trying to add another string to my bow as the latter did very effectively

When you consider half the tours the players have to endure are to the wasteland to our north-west, it's worth him doing it. Because for the most part I don't know that his usual type of bowling is going to cut it at test level unless he's playing as a seam bowling all rounder rather than an out and out third quick (TJB and I disagree on him playing as the latter I guess).

Faulkner's long form bowling is tragically underrated. He's the victim of his own ODI success in that regard. Hard to push for a Test spot when you're playing ODIs all season instead of the Shield and everyone just starts seeing you as a slogging, slower-ball-bowling all rounder.

Agreed, it's all a bit amusing really.

It will be interesting to see what sort of team gets picked for India; the last tours of Pakistan/UAE and India don't inspire a lot of confidence in the "horses for courses" philosophy.
