Australian Domestic Season 2016/17

Just what Tasmania needed, another wicketkeeper.

Bet Doran feels great about going full WK now, going to have to learn how to bat by next season if this goes through.

Might not be an issue for Doran, depending on whether Wade can keep his spot in the Australian side. The Doran keeping thing has smelt like what Handscomb did in Victoria the whole time to me, though.

Victoria won't be shattered, full time gig to Sam Harper and we can see how we go developing one of our own for once.

Doran could always come back to Sydney and dream of snagging a Futures League game with Australian Reps Guru and Dermo Abb00tt

I know it isn't your main point but do you think Abbott is missing out on first team selection? I don't, excluding the games when all internationals are available.

Well is anyone anticipating Wade can dig a foxhole in the India series deep enough to survive the nuclear holocaust and make it to see the Ashes?

Regardless I've quietly assumed the Doran WK change was so they'd have an excuse to have him in the XI with their promises of a gig. Especially with the plethora of keepers they have to choose from it seems odd they'd go for the new guy trying to forge a batting career in the midst of a struggle and say "Want to suffer just a bit more?". You can forgive a keeper for those numbers if the boot fits.

The point is that Doran would be pushing it to make the 2nd XI.

Sandhu and Abbott are fringe players. With Copes, Dougeh and SOK out they get a game. But probably only one at best do atm if those guys play. If both SOK and Lyon aren't available the Sommerville plays, and he probably plays if one of them is available anyway (at home at least). When Cummo finally gets fit they have an even harder time getting in the XI. Nothing wrong with either, but atm our depth has them in Futures more often than not.

We now live in an alternate fact world where opinions and feelings are facts. So with CA doubling down on the Wade is fine train he may make the Ashes.

"We feel his keeping has really on the India tour and he is in a good place for the Ashes. Plus he brings a lot to the group and is invaluable behind the scenes". - Hohns post tour.

Good work out for SOKKY at Kardinia Pk

Grabbed 3/38 in the Vics 1st innings 157 and followed it up with 6/79 to roll em for 249 and earn the boys a day off.

I think Abbott is going to start getting picked ahead of both Copeland and Bollinger tbh.

it's a moot point because SOK & Lyon are away leaving free a spot, but Abbott would have been picked anyway. It's not like he was dropped in the first place. i would assume it'll be something like

abbott
copeland
cummins
bollinger
sommerville
