What the **** are you talking about mate?

My memory isn't failing me at all, I've rated Tamim since his partnership with Siddique in Dunedin 2008 and rated Shakib since the same tour (albeit for ODIs). Yeah some members have called for them to be stripped of Test status but myself and many who actually follow Bangladeshi cricket have seen them improve a great amount since 2007.

At home they're a genuine threat.
AWTA, deshi's are real good at home. They almost had that game vs India, except for that hundy by minnowbasher Sachin

We just need competitive cricket, that's all. Who the **** cares about the result.

Here comes the personal abuse 8-)

Anyways I wasn't talking about you in reference to the Bangladeshi comments of being stripped of it's Test status.
Then who were you talking about? Plenty of members have been noting Bangers improvement for a while now.

Not at all. That was being said by lots of posters here before the series started. Don't just assume things to help your argument.
What about playing at home? I agreed that they are a strong team at home, obviously being a HGA.

My second sentence had no relation with my 1st, it was just a small tounge-in-cheek comment about NZ losing :p

Bangladesh are improving but to call them 'strong' at home in Tests definitely stretches it, given they never, ever win. They're more competitive there but 'strong' is not a word I would use.

Sky commentary team for 1 (which if you read properly will understand).

Can somebody bump up a thread on Bangladeshi's series with England and we can see for ourselves?

Well said. We can't get competitive cricket if strong teams are playing Bangladesh though can we?

Sky commentary has nothing to do with my protestations at your point, go look up the England series and go look up every other Bangladeshi Test thread.

Lol wut? Are we even talking about the same thing? I'm confused with what you are trying to say...

I was saying that if you remember watching Bangladeshi's series with England, there were many calls for them being stripepd of their Test status.

Now I really can't be ****ed with what your opinions was or wasn't, I am talking the general public opinions at the time. Now I still don't care what your opinion is, I am just saying people forget quickly about these things and suddenly their opinions can change in an instant.

Now if you have been paying attention, this has nothing to do with you or how the Sky commentary team has been treating you. Kapish?

go look up the England series and go look up every other Bangladeshi Test thread.
I will certainly do that.

They've played competitive cricket in the recent past, IIRC. Not my problem that you failed to notice that.
Well you can't remember correctly can you? Knee-jerk reactions from all of you.

Suddenly it is as if Bangladesh's series with NZ have been their only one in the recent past...

No point in continuing this, you're all over the shop. Critcizing me for my opinion on Bangers being based on the recent series and you commented about how this knee-jerking was here at CW but now you've gone off on a tangent.

What tangent sir?

I am still debating the same point I was after my 1st post on this thread.

Not my problem if people have trouble understanding.

Genuine threat =/= strong
When was the last time Bangladesh won a test against full-strength opposition?

Well, yeah they are improving, but they still need to convince to be 'strong' at home. Like winning a test, for example.

Threat.

They threaten at home. Geez Louise =/= means does not equal, I'm not saying they are strong at home, just that they are a genuine threat.

Haha, thought you did mean that for some reason.

Yeah, I don't doubt that they can challenge at home. Winning is another thing, at least until they host Zimbabwe again.

Windies, Pakistan and New Zealand will all struggle in Tests there against their spinners IMO.

Well thats odd then. We last played Bangles in Banglesland, so shouldnt it be their turn here? Only India has the mighty power to host Australia twice in a row.
No, after that series they came over to Oz and played a three match ODI series (the same series when the Symonds 'Gone Fishing' saga took place), but the tests were scrapped altogether by CA.
Anyways, the times are changing in the cricket world and players certainly won't agree on playing a series in Bangladesh, when they can earn millions of dollars elsewhere.
Its good that the cricket boards too are realising this and rather than being stupid and restricting their players, they are understanding their p.o.v and creating that window by themselves for tournaments like the IPL.
Btw, whether Bangers are threatening at home or not shouldn't have any bearing on teams touring there, or on them touring other test nations on a regular basis.
As long as they have the test status they should be alloted decent number of games against all teams, though whether they should have the test status or not is a different matter all together.
