Australia A vs India A games

Shame mcsweeney got that pearler when he did. I think he's done enough across the two games to say he can open, especially given the next best performer in the top 4 has been harris averaging 30 with one streaky 70 the highlight. We'll probably see harris lining up vs bumrah in a few weeks though.

Prasidh sincerely might make me taste it real hard in the next few years. Completely unrecognisable from the bowler who stank it up in SA last summer
Mukesh or Prasidh you think? Mukesh seems like the safer bet on pitches with some help but Prasidh has more upside. On tamer Australian surfaces both will probably get flogged.

Mukesh is definitely the better bowler but he's definitely more reliant on conditions; he'd probably like to dig up this deck and carry it around the world in his pocket. On the basis that Test pitches are usually not quite as spicy as the Shield MCG (which is consistently very tough in the last few years) you'd want the guy with a bit more upside on flatter decks.

Yeah he and McJerk are meme “grown up playing T20” players, though Davies is a lot better
It's weird because davies has been a bad Whiteball player so far at the professional level. Has played the odd bbl innings but he's more known for the redball stuff atm.

This is actually not that unusual amongst players who only know how to hit boundaries and can't play high, but not extreme, tempo cricket, and thus don't know how to navigate the middle periods of ODIs were the key is often to score off every ball rather than hitting boundaries all the time.

Davies is many, many levels above JFM

He’s simply young and plays the odd rash shot but the fundamentals are there

JFM is a rank slogger and it’s unclear whether he’s got the defensive technique to last more than a couple of overs against good bowling if he takes a more disciplined approach

Oh I think Davies is a really talented player and could easily "make it". Which is why it frustrates me to see him getting out with wild hacks like four times this summer; he's too good for that.

JFM... yeah, enough said about him.

The guy most surely be picked for Perth. But watch Indian management go with Rahul for no 5

This is a real Robert Craddock armchair psychologist take but the way Konstas basically sprinted out to the crease despite coming in fifth ball batting four probably spoke to how desperate he was to get out there and prove himself. Definitely speaks well to his mentality if so.

Came here to comment on this. Webster has done himself no harm so far. Finished off the first game with a good 50 and did a great job covering the neser injury this game. If he gets a red ink here he's definitely sent the selectors a message.

Need more batting, I'd play Jadeja rather than Harshit. He has very limited red ball experience and didn't play any IND A vs AUS A fixture. Our weak point is batting, I'll rather go with Jadeja and hope the 3 pacers + Washi, Jadeja take care of the bowling
