Auction draft

One of the more tougher games my team has had but we pulled through despite a dangerous and devastating performance by Lohmann.

I think my team both suffers and benefits from the statistical based simulation - Lohmann's mowing through teams with his incredible bowling record but Ranji and Grace both have averages that do not befit their status in the game. I guess it doesn't help either that we don't have a modern wicket-keeper/batsman and the bowlers have struggled to contribute with the bat too.

Marc, did you compensate at all for player's eras when entering the stats or is it just based on their raw average? Just realised that my lackluster batting performances so far may be down to having Shrewsbury and Trumper at the top of the order, who were exceptional players but due to their both era average below 40.

I decided that it started to become very complex if I modified stats. How would you do it so that it's fair on all players?

Have to say, when I started the draft I hadn't thought of even running a sim - was just thinking of having sides for comparative purposes. There won't be any sims in this amount of detail for any of the ODI or other sides we'll auction off (I have several ideas for future drafts already)

Round 5

A lazy Sunday means another round is completed, and all teams have some points at long last.

Wow, that looks like it was quite a close game. Great job by the team to pull off a win there.

Northies remain unbeaten, long batting line up paying off with us scoring 500+ without a centurion.

I'll take a draw against Pskov's side. Interesting that Sobers has now gone two matches without taking a wicket!

Whatever it takes!!!
Awesome work.. Warney, Barnes and Weekes my heroes.. Dhoni continues to be consistent there, shoring up a very weak middle and lower middle order...

As if Hobbs would make 0 & 1 in a match.

Not too happy about the 3 wicket loss, but that's what happens when you score only 103 in the first innings.

Quite so. Much better performance by your batsmen in the second innings. Would have probably won it if not for a timely century by Sehwag and a typically determined performance by Chappell.

Round 6

Swanneh continues to surprise!

Time for a table I reckon - bear in mind some teams have yet to play in their home conditions, but some have played all their games at home, so it may be a bit misleading for now:

ok draw, surprised to see Matt Hayden and John Edrich both bowl as many overs as Malcolm Marshall in the second innings.

Is it just me or has Hadlee been really quite poor so far? Croft seems to have been comfortably outperforming him in just about every match.
