Great pick, I really wanted Gower!David Gower (44.25)
Nice pick, but jeez that's an enormous call with Messrs Hobbs, Gavaskar & Sutcliffe floating in the wind. Although I know a fair few rate him that highly.Well if no one else wants him I'll take the best ever opener Len Hutton
I've always considered Hutton to be the best tbh. Was the best opener of his era by a mile, faced great quicks, spinners, scored heavily against everyone, managed some incredible solo efforts (eg: Ashes 1950/51 ), carried a pretty weak lineup on his back for quite a while, and is acclaimed by everyone.Nice pick, but jeez that's an enormous call with Messrs Hobbs, Gavaskar & Sutcliffe floating in the wind. Oh no doubt he's well acclaimed, but so are the Hobbs, Gavaskar & Sutcliffe tbf. But I am aware many put Hutton right up the top.I've always considered Hutton to be the best tbh. I don't even have an AT Xi, but I'd say if I picked one, I'd probably go Hobbs and Hutton because Gavaskar is a ****.Oh no doubt he's well acclaimed, but so are the Hobbs, Gavaskar & Sutcliffe tbf. But I am aware many put Hutton right up the top.
Out of interest OS, which 2 openers make your all-time test XI?
Yes, please. It'd be a bit silly to stall a draft waiting on the order of all things.Could ask a non-combatant to randomise round 9 for us?
Yes NufNon-combatant hey, want me to put up a random order?
