And now back on topic... with India being a dominant country in the region, it seems that neighbouring countries are influenced by their culture. Cricket is spreading organically from country to country. Then you have the number of Indian migrants in other far-flung countries such as the USA who are basically propping up the local leagues.

Some see India as a threat to cricket because they are so dominant in financial terms but it must be realised the good that having a country of 1 billion cricket fans does for our game.

The likes of BCCI haters like Gideon Haigh may do that, but the general consensus is that India is doing an acceptable job of driving the game forward.

I think this topic is actually quite interesting. On one end of the scale we have Pakistan which 15-20 years ago had an excellent system with everything deveoping (even in the country), and the now look, they are a corrupt shambles.

10-15 years ago Sri Lanka weren't that good but look at them now, thanks to some good governing and a good system. The same applies to Bangladesh and some other countries like Ireland and USA.

BTW, was gona welcome Richard back, but now no.

If the political situation on Afghanistan and Nepal stabilize, I reckon in next 10 years both teams would be Test Teams and with advent of IPL and maybe similar league by Pakistan in Pakistan or Dubai, I surely see 2, 3 Middle East Nation along with Malaysia, China picking up the games and knocking on the doors to be made test nations in 15 years. Asia has a great future.

About Pakistan, it is just a bad phase they are heaving. One strong captain, the Team can overturn everything in one day. They surely have loads of potential.
