Adverse condition isn't an excuse imo.
Corrected. Thanks.Do you mean Bedser’s?
iirc it was another Atherton/McGrath situation with those two.Corrected. Thanks.
The difference between the Atherton/ McGrath and Morris/ Bedser situation was Morris actually did score lots of runs against Bedser as well.iirc it was another Atherton/McGrath situation with those two.
And knowing Bradman thought very highly of Morris, I’m sure that had some impact on his rating of Bedser.
Dismissed Morris 5 times in a series in 3 seperate series. (plus only 3 times in 48)
Sure, in both their debut series in Australia. The difference between the Atherton/ McGrath and Morris/ Bedser situation was Morris actually did score lots of runs against Bedser as well.
He scored lots with Invincibles in England too.Sure, in both their debut series in Australia.
What's your take on Trumper, Burgey?Bill Lawry should be in this discussion. I don’t think he’s the winner but he was a genuinely awesome opener.
Valid commentBill Lawry should be in this discussion. I don’t think he’s the winner but he was a genuinely awesome opener.
I think he’s hard to run a line through when comparing to players of other eras. His raw numbers aren’t great but by all reports he was fantastic. He doesn’t sort of stand out from others pre-WW1 as much as the likes of Barnes and Grace so he’s harder to rate imhoWhat's your take on Trumper, Burgey?
