Very happy with the game as it stands, Junior Cullip... are ranked #3 at the moment, about 10 points behind me, so if I can secure first innings points in this game I should guarantee second place in my FC league.

You do realise that you don't get points in BT for scoring more in the first innings than the opposition right? The points that you score in the first innings are based on the runs you score and the wickets you take. If you were to declare at 419-2, you would get five bonus points for passing 360, whilst the opposition wouldn't get any bowling points for only getting two. When they bat, you get one point for every three wickets you take, so 1 point for getting them three down, 2 points for getting six wickets, and all 3 if you take 9 wickets or bowl them all out. So you should probably declare overnight to stop them from getting any bowling points.

He has been told a million times that there are no 1st innings points in FC, never seems to want to listen. I wouldn't bother anymore tbh.

Yeah, thought it had been mentioned once or twice! I now officially wash my hands of it.

Essex Eagles: 203 (77.5) Talbot 4/22 (11.5)

The Heath CC: 138/1 (32) Mclean 73* (104), Caldwell 56 (74)

Not a bad show from the bowlers. Woods was disappointing with 1/48 but Talbot timed his return nicely to clean up the tail and finish with the best figures. Slightly annoyed they made it over 200 but it doesn't mean much at the end of the day. Also slightly irritated by Caldwell hitting a breezy 50 and not going on but again - doesn't matter. I should comfortably make my declaration total of 400 and with any luck, I'll bowl them out tomorrow and finish in two days.

Dynamo Morpork 312 for five (77)
D James 132, S Herbert 82, M Virk 63*; S Hewlett 3/68 (21)

Didn't quite expect that rout. Tempted to declare at 360 as I'll get 7 bonus points more if Lea survives overnight (a moderately big if there), and I'm only trailing by six.

in with a decent shout in my FC game, opposition 11-8 following on after scoring 23 in their first innings chasing my 503-2. Major got his first double century with 250* after his199* in his last FC innings meaning he'll average 230.5 in his debut year. Islam took 6-4 and 4-7 to move to 99 FC wickets for the year..he should have a shot at breaking the ton tomorrow.

It's a HUGE match to finish the FC season, as the NCMG hosts league leaders Rickmansworth, who needed just 3 points more than Withington to seal the league.

We were fighting for the league title at the end of last season, with my lot in the box seat...when a low scoring game and a shocking 4th innings collapse saw Boycott's, the 3rd placed team, come from behind and take promotion. Both teams still bear the scars.

So, on day 1, I was dismayed to be bowled out for 148. No bonus points. 50 overs left, and all R'worth needed for the title was to declare early and deny me any bowling points.

Then, Gibb and Hirst stepped up to the plate, removing two of the danger men. John came twirling in, and 6 wickets fell before the close. Game on :)

Gibb and Hirst did more damage this morning, bowling the opposition out for just 114 -- unbelievably, Withington had a 34 run 1st innings lead!

So, with today's sunny weather, I just want to bat and bat and bat. 21/1 from 7 overs so far.

Winner gets promoted, and there will almost certainly be a result. It doesn't get much more exciting than this!

UPDATE: Gratton gets Reed again, this time for 24 rather than a hapless duck. Sandwith in, and it goes without saying that I need runs from him. If I can just get past Gratton (3 wickets in the 1st inns) and Kaluwitharana (7 wickets), I might be able to post something competitive. Hayward then goes, just before lunch, for a fighting 21. 63/3 at the break, a lead of 97. Sandwith's just hit a boundary, so I'm now 101 ahead. Eeek.

Makanna 12-1-51-1

Last Wicket: Mclean lbw b. Makanna 191 (FOW: 319/4)

Hmmm. Cracking innings from Mclean but there hasn't been much else from the boys. Declaring at 400 and then we'll hopefully bowl them out cheaply in humid conditions.

Yeah but it isn't very much from what I recall, especially as you're promoting from VI. I don't think they do promotion tables for FC so all you'll be able to figure out is that you're going up to V!

End of Over 97 (3 runs). The Heath CC: 401-6, runrate=4.13

45 overs to bowl them out today. C'mon guys.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
So, this is my current setup for nets:

Ed Mills, 20, 1 bowl
Jimmy Knowles, 19, 2 bowl, 1 field
Matthew Wilberforce, 18, 2 bat
Neale Gleeson, 20, 1 bowl, 1 field
Nicolas Dhindsa, 19, 2 bat

According to AtStumps, this will be current training at the end of each season.

Code:
[B]Name Current (Age) Season 10 (Age) Season 11 (Age)[/B]
Mills remark/qual (20) wonder/remark (21) except/except (22)
Knowles wond/prof (19) except/qual (20) exquis/except (21)
Wilberforce superb/prof (18) remark/strong (19) wonder/qual (20)
Gleeson sens/qual (20) exquis/except (21) master/master (22)
Dhindsa remark/prof (19) wonder/strong (20) sens/qual (21)
Now, Gleeson I'm happy with where he is and how he'll be at the end of that season.

However, if I add/change nets to the following (those underlined are the ones I'm seriously considering changing whilst those that aren't but with added nets are just a plausible 'what if?'):

Ed Mills, 20, 1 bowl, 1 field
Jimmy Knowles, 19, 2 bowl, 1 field, 1 WK
Matthew Wilberforce, 18, 2 bat, 1 field
Neale Gleeson, 20, 1 bowl, 1 field, 1 WK
Nicolas Dhindsa, 19, 2 bat, 1 field

Changes in their outcomes bolded and underlined in the code box.

Code:
[B]Name Current (Age) Season 10 (Age)	Season 11 (Age)[/B]
Mills remark/qual (20) wonder/[B][U]except[/U][/B] (21)	except/[B][U]master[/U][/B] (22)
Knowles wond/prof (19) except/[B][U]remark[/U][/B] (20)	exquis/[B][U]master[/U][/B] (21)
Wilberforce	superb/prof (18) remark/[B][U]qual[/U][/B] (19)	wonder/[B][U]except[/U][/B] (20)
Gleeson sens/qual (20) exquis/[B][U]exquis[/U][/B] (21)	master/[B][U]elite[/U][/B] (22)
Dhindsa remark/prof (19) wonder/[B][U]qual[/U][/B] (20)	sens/[B][U]except[/U][/B] (21)

Of course, for this to happen, I would have to take two nets from somewhere. I was perhaps thinking of selling Dhindsa, tbh.
