Had a decent win today. Beat 4th place. Won my FC match this week, so at least that's a positive. will be demoting in both forms though. Probably for the best.

BARNES OUT
Have an easy playoff which I should win, but could be a tough slog next season in III.7 with my lack of batting depth. I'll be putting a few trainees on and bringing in another all-rounder so hopefully I should be able to stick it out.

Oh, and if anyone wants a friendly Sunday it's Coco's Nuts: (6533). If you want an away friendly that's even better,..I've had two away games this week and would like to put some money in the bank!
Challenged, at your gaff.

Don't worry, I'll be gentle ;)

Won my match and the league, but the side that came 2nd lost to 3rd. They GFI'd so it was pretty funny. Probably just going to play full strength in the playoff and see what happens. Can't see this side being competitve in D2 yet, in both forms. Especially when you take a couple levels on PAN. My best ever ratings though. Oh well we are getting there slowly.

25.4 . Talbot to Powell
He can't do that! Talbot has just given Read a wedgy as Read tried to pick up the ball! Off to the naughty corner sonny!
Good to see that Read has settled in and gets involved with team banter these days.

End of Over 26: 87-9, runrate=3.35
Talbot 3-1-5-0
Oddy* 1 (22 balls)
Powell 44 (70 balls)

Last Wicket: Pratley lbw b. Lucas 0 (FOW: 69/9)

Irritating last wicket stand.

Lower Order: respectable
Seam Bowling: exceptional
Spin Bowling: useless
Fielding: feeble

Decent lower order. Got no chance and don't want to promote to his league. Will just go PAN and see how the boys fair. Might GFI if I decide to throw BT20.

My final opponent of the season has put out a bit of a B team, which takes the fun out of things somewhat. Assuming no complete batting disaster on my part, and if another result goes my way then I'll come second in the league.

End of Over 38: 97-8, runrate=2.55
Gill 9-0-24-6
Mcandrew* 24 (59 balls)
Walter 0 (3 balls)
Last Wicket: Lawson b. Gill 0 (FOW: 97/8)

Edit: someone clearly writing commentary lines under the influence:

39.4 . Gill to Walter
Flat delivery, well defended. Well, I never... play will be stopped briefly as some wag has released a pig onto the field with 'Gill' painted on it's side! Poor little fellow - the pig, not Gill, who could frankly do with losing the odd kilo.

And that's the end of the match. The Heath CC won by 9 wickets.
Coatham Sloggers 87-10
The Heath CC 88-1

No standout performances from anyone - 3 wickets each for Woods and Turner, 2 each for Prutton and Lucas. Read got a duck and Mclean and Caldwell both made 40-odd. Just waiting for the reporters summary now so I can go and get my latest batstats rating and hopefully move up the table a bit.

ADODB.Recordset error '800a0bcd'
Either BOF or EOF is True, or the current record has been deleted. Requested operation requires a current record.

Looks set to be another 2 horse race for top spot in my OD league next season between the team below (Who were auto-demoted from Div III) and the team that finished 2nd.

East Bentleigh Central CC
Top Order: exceptional
Middle Order: superb
Lower Order: feeble
Seam Bowling: sensational
Spin Bowling: wonderful
Fielding: competent

The 2 teams that are auto-promoting shouldn't be too hard to overcome thankfully. Although one of them does get an exceptional spin rating with 2 spinners, 1 is 30k wage the other 3k, so that could cause a problem or 2. However his batting is rather weak only getting prof/comp. Shouldn't see any new teams via the playoffs though.

Bit of excitement in England I.1 - Ladbroke need to beat cow corner and get a NRR of about +2. They're cruising to victory chasing 105, but are about 0.25 short of the necessary run rate. The end of Pob's domination?

End of Over 21: 79-2, runrate=3.76, reqrunrate=0.90 (104-10)
Bannister 4-0-18-1
Connelly* 44 (63 balls)
Ricketts 2 (4 balls)
Last Wicket: Halliwell c. Yapabandara b. Bannister 18 (FOW: 64/2)

Since cow corner's manager is quitting after this match and selling all his players, I doubt it will be the end just yet...

P.S. I am not a crackpot.

One feels that the tables have turned somewhat. I remember, on my first entry into div III, got thrashed by Sriram. Now.

Hmm 109 balls to get a half-century on a flat pitch against a team with ~remarkable bowling.

Cow Corner's quitting? He had a pretty good setup, last I heard -- I remember him knocking me out of the cup a few seasons ago, at something like the quarter-final stage.

Anyway, it's been a grandstand two days for my lot. After clinching FC promotion yesterday, it's looking good for OD survival (or at least a playoff) today.

I need to win my match, against mid-table In the Googlies, and hope Crunchie (bottom but having concentrated very much on FC) get something against Highton (in 6th).

It was looking bad for Highton, as they slumped to 21/4 chasing 220/10. However, they've pulled it back to 153/4 after 36 overs -- this could be very tight indeed.

In my match, Googlie's top order did exceedingly well, getting not far off 100 for the loss of only one wicket. However, the continued high-quality bowling wore them down, and they ended up posting 194/10. I'm 137/3 in reply, having lost Perry early, before Mulryne (trainee) did his job in posting 30something. Unfortunately, Sandwith's also departed cheaply.

143/3, 52 runs required at 3.25/over...I should win this.
