Best week I've had in ages on BT.

Penford is having a ridiculous FC season so far:

Batting M I R n.o. Ave SR HS C st 50s 100s
Season 5 6 1141 4 570.50 120.61 252* 1 0 1 5

4 doubles in 6 innings :)

Edit: Biburg just got called up to the U-19 squad as well :D Manager says he'll definitely be playing tomorrow.

Against Got Spin, Nizzer's hattrick swinging it back my way. Fairly sure I forgot to set orders, I wanted to GFI instead of PAN.

Nizamuddin 7-0-30-3

Janes popped in batting for my first sensational primary, Oleary should follow suit for bowling on Monday. Seriously considering selling my best players and chucking in the game, though - just not finding it that interesting any more. Would anyone be interested in a sensational/exceptional bowler and batsman? Not definitely quitting yet, but would want to make sure Oleary went to a good home.

:(

There seems to have been a serious decrease in the levels of banter on here. As people get bored of the game, I suppose.

As usual, I'm struggling to stay afloat in FC.II. One seriously close loss, another that should have been a draw (I set an overly sporting declaration)...but beating Rickmansworth yesterday has kept me in touch with the main pack, albeit down in 6th place.

In OD.III, I managed to get to the top of the table and stay there! Until today, by the look of things -- knackered bowlers, so had to go normal against 2nd place...who are currently 224/1 from 40 overs. Looks like a tonking!

On a side note, Freaky's England U19 efforts are keeping me amused. I'm surprised he's not put out a "bugger, i forgot to set team orders" press announcement yet.

BARNES OUT
I still thoroughly enjoy the game, though I've found that I need to shake things up every season to keep me interested. Hoping to entrench in OD.III for a while (which looks likely as I just went top of the league today thanks to a shock loss for the best side in the league) and slowly build more batsmen. Need two other class batsmen to really challenge for higher honours, so could be a while yet unless I can snag a cheapy sometime soon.

Paste Oleary for me? I want to upgrade one of my bowlers, would probably go out of my range.
I said a good home.

Oh, all right.

Will pop to sensational bowling next week. Of course he just took 4-20 against an exceptional/quality batting lineup, leading me to wonder whether I can really live without him. :)

Yeah. I just find there's not much to say about it really; we all largely seem to understand the game to the point where there are no surprises left. I almost never bother changing my full-strength orders any more, so it's largely a matter of just watching matches play out. My first round of trainees have pretty much topped out, so it's either wait another three seasons for a new batch to come through, or start playing the TM seriously. And I don't think I can be bothered with either, to be honest. Very pleased to have made it to Div III, but carrying on further looks like a looong road.

Pretty bored of it myself. Find myself neglecting to submit orders for fairly important matches and generally not really following it. Might sell my team after I get knocked out of/win the cup.

Pead wouldn't be quite as pricy (he's lowish exceptional), and has the benefit *cough* of being a filthy Ozzler already:

Sam Pead - 23 yo, BT Rating=53,845

Another medium pacer though. I've also got Piercy, a defensive exq/qual spinner, but he's only 20yo so would probably be a bit costlier due to trainability. The rest of my bowlers are just crap.

Had another win in Div III yesterday. Up to 3rd, and only 4 points behind the leader. I have to say, my success is a bit of a surprise. The trouble is, I'm still in the cup and my fitness levels are starting to suffer quite badly.

Plus, I'm playing Trevor's Cymru Gurgitators next week. He's running 5th, but not far behind.

Mine too -- I reckon you need seven pure bowlers with Strong+ stamina to compete on all three fronts.

I've got one Strong, plus three at Prof, a Competent and an all-rounder at Superb. Two 8k BTR backups complete the set.

It's just not enough!

Yes. My support bowlers are fairing okay, but my main strike bowler (who also happens to be one of my better bats) is down to Fresh fitness already (despite his Superb stamina). I should have probably rested him in the cup two weeks ago, possibly even last week. This week's cup match is a pretty even contest, so if I want to win, I can't afford to rest him.

Tough.

Barely set any orders myself these days. Not sure if I will still have any motivation for this game once Jeithoon plays a the WC. Last real goal for the club will be have an all Sri Lankan XI. Once Sama plays and Willetts gets a passport approved only one position left to fill.

Though tbh I'm not that far off pushing for promotion in D1. Once Sama comes through to even just remarkable bowling attack will be probably good enough. Batting a long way behind though. The fact that I'm close say more about the fact that so many sides at the top are losing interest as well.

Though I am still pretty keen to try and manage the NT side. Problem with SL is that you basically need to be D1 manager to even get a look in.
