Meanwhile, the comp-comp bowler I've put on the market is going for 1k with about 12 hours to go. Hope there is a last minute bidding war or I'll be pissed.

9. Glenn Sicelo - 20 yo, BT Rating=32,158 [transfer listed]

A destructive player with feeble leadership skills and feeble experience.

Chucked him on the market for 8.5 million. Would love an early bid.

So what do you think of the announcement that teams of candidates can stand for national election?

I personally think it's a good move, and we should try and get some sort of CW involvement. I've toyed with the idea of standing for election myself, but don't really think it's a goer, for three main reasons:
A. I don't think I could get enough votes
B. I'm not sure I know enough about the international game
C. There's a few aspects of BT, most noteably sledging, which don't work very well/at all with my speech software, so I'd kind'a have one hand tied behind my back from the go get.

However I do think that I have something to offer, and certainly believe that as a group, we have some of the best BT brains around. So how about putting together some sort of consortium? I'd say that we have three ways to proceed.

A. Go for the England job, with Scaly fronting our campaign, (probably the toughest election to win, but has the advantage of being fronted by one of the keenest and most analytical, if not most diplomatic and tolerant, figures in the whole of BT.
B. Stand for Sri Lanka With chaminda_00*as our front man. Possibly the smallest user base, and so in theory our best shot at electoral success. A Passionate Lankan, with a prominent SL side and the back-up of a college of BT excellence.
C. All throw our weight behind a glorious return to power for Adam in WI. Proven track record, manager of arguably the best and most successful club side in the world, and this time back in league with the best the game has to offer.

Or we could go for a U19 job. With the rule change, allowing club managers to choose the nationality of their YPs,we would have the added benefit of being able to concentrate and target a group of Yps at a specific U19 side.

Thoughts? Trev

Nibbs would be pissed he wasn't mentioned ahead of me. Running for SL U19s job in FTP. Got a decent chance of getting the that post IMO. Also working behind the scence for NT side in SL already. Pretty sure the current manager is going for another run at the post. Also you basically have to be a long term D2 manager or D1 manager in Sri Lanka to get a look in. The community fairly close, but fairly picky as well with a lot of star gazers.

You had better have all my players playing for the U19's in FTP

Good point, Nibbs was a bit of a stupid oversight. No reflection on Nibbs, just didn't pop into my head when I was thinking of small electorates.

But NZ could be a good country to target

Guess we'd need to crack on though, with elections opening on Monday!

Been looking for a resp batsman for 5 hours. Passed up a 650k bargain in hope of getting something better. Will keep you all updated. It's really exciting.

No chance of that happening I'm afraid. Takes too much time, not enough happening on the international scene to keep me interested (particularly as most players are elite/elite now) and as reigning WC champions there's not much to aspire to.

As for 'best club in the world', labrooy has everyone beat ATM.

Oh, and I think the only thing less likely than Scaly being elected is him actually announcing his candidacy.

Oh why? has Scaly been exercising his own particular brand of diplomacy in sledging? Or is it more to do with a general lack of enthusiasm for BT these days? As I say, sledging doesn't work with my computer, so I have little or no idea of the politics of the world beyond CW.

Just thought it would be fun to have a CW project.

And Nandon, my YPs still going cheap. Med Stam, Med WK, Resp Bat, Woe Conc. All yours for £500K, otherwise I'm going to have to buy him back.

Later, Trev

YP these days equal all or nothing. Interesting as I reckon half these days that are spending stupid money on youth pulls would probably only end up putting a couple nets on the players.
