whenuapai wages hit 392k. bye bye downer
Haha, don't know why you bought him if you were concerned about wages.

My wages are around 470k, will be ~485k when I get a new bowler. Should be OK as long as I keep the members happy enough to get high gate receipts. Think my wages will probably peak at ~550k in a couple of seasons, and thereafter it will just be a matter of making enough money from training to cover my losses. Should be getting elite ratings all-round by then (or even this season) so the incentive to train players to higher levels will be lower.

That's my youth pull. Shame I wasted points on Stamina and Fielding that I could have put to Keeping/Bowling to get a guy who'd sell for a lot more. A decent bat, doubt he'd fetch that much cash, but I could do with a bit of dough.

Depends on how many nets you have really. Could go insane and give him 2 bat 3 bowl 1 field 1 keeping 1 stamina. Or could just go 1 bat 1 bowl 1 field.

Keeping nets train seconds just as fast as a fielding, but when together its faster.

Hmm thanks, gone with 2 bat, 2 bowl, 1 keeping and 1 field.
Keeping just gives you the same effect of fielding with regards to secondaries, whether you're training anything else or not.

Fielding gives you around 1 conc. and 1 cons. pop every 14-15 weeks (ish)
Keeping gives you around 1 conc. and 1 cons. pop every 14-15 weeks (ish)

Plus fielding is actually useful generally. Keeping isn't and the secondary training you're getting is pathetic. The first batting or bowling net gives you the same effect but only for their relevant con. type. It makes far more sense to swap that keeping net to a stamina net.

Thanks for that (Y). Will do.

Gonna disagree with scaly, just because its fun. If you put him on 2 bat 2 bowl 1 field 1 stamina, he will have the stamina for 24 weeks, but even with the extra stamina, the nets will make him useless for most of that time. By the time he turns 20 he will look like this:

Stamina: superb Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: wonderful Concentration: superb
Bowling: remarkable Consistency: superb
Fielding: proficient

If i was training him, i would train him on 2 bat 2 bowl 1 field 1 keeping for the first season, then drop the keeping net and chuck a floating stamina net around, maybe get him 1 or 2 levels, but also improve the rest of my team, this would mean he would look a bit like this when he hits 20:

Stamina: proficient Wicket Keeping: woeful
Batting: wonderful Concentration: remarkable
Bowling: remarkable Consistency: remarkable
Fielding: proficient

Then i would probably drop him back to 1 bat 2 bowl for a season or two, and casually get his stamina up to superb.

Sure, he will never make the U19's, but he will be a star for your team (When his PFL's hit normal levels)

Actually, on second thoughts, i would sell him, too much work.

But because secondaries train slowest at 17, you're getting the very least possible bang for your buck out of that keeping net by sticking it on at the start; he'll reach the same point with fewer nets if you do stamina first, then keeping (not that I'd do keeping at all, tbh).

With stamina instead of wk, the secondaries still come out within a couple of levels of the primary by the time he hits 20. The superb stamina he'll have by then will make him a pretty usable all-rounder on two nets (bat+bowl), and the secondaries will catch up on their own in a couple of seasons. Or you can stick the keeping on at this point and save yourself a couple of weeks per level of secondary.

I agree, though, I prefer to leave other people to train this sort of player; it can't be worth having your team basically go nowhere for three seasons because you're using all your nets on someone who's permanently knackered. Must be fun when they start playing, mind you.
