Dead Badger

State 12th Man
He is a mile off respectable tho.
Yes, I (belatedly, and with the help of Scuffer's spreadsheet) realised that; max of about a quarter of the way to resp bat. Ah well, a nice novelty nonetheless. Might still find space to train him, since my batting depth is rubbish and I don't think he'll fetch much on the TM.

EARLOBE

State 12th Man
End of Over 40: 157-7, runrate=3.93
Mauger 10-0-40-2
Thorne* 43 (65 balls)
Neal 0 (0 balls)
Last Wicket: Mornar lbw b. Mauger 5 (FOW: 157/7)

I can't believe I'm struggling like this against a weak bot.

International Vice-Captain
End of Over 50: 308-4, runrate=6.16
Butterfield 10-0-69-2
Blewett* 1 (2 balls)
Faulds 105 (112 balls)

Last Wicket: Churms c. Crabb b. Butterfield 38 (FOW: 307/4)

Robertinho

Cricketer Of The Year
I won my Cup game against an easy bot by 9 wickets, bowled them out for 45. It was a totally 2nd-string lineup, except for Houlihan (comp/comp) and Wolfenden (resp/feeb) who bat at 6 & 7. Ludlam announced his arrival to Anchormen in style with a fiery spell of 5-1-17-4, whilst Flitney managed to take 3/10.

Solid ratings for a B-side IMO

Anchormen
Top Order: mediocre
Middle Order: feeble
Lower Order: abysmal
Seam Bowling: mediocre
Spin Bowling: feeble
Fielding: feeble

BARNES OUT
7.6 W Lambert to Bullard
Ball pitched outside off, Bullard attempts to cut, gets a thick inside edge and makes a mess of his stumps.

Gun, just need 9 more now.

My cup match lasted 18.3 overs. Bowled them out for 25 (Poke 6/9 Wikus 4/10) and chased it in 4 (Brinkhuys 18(11) Hocking 7(13)) Hope i get another bot at home next round. Good times.

End of Over 34: 104-6, runrate=3.06, reqrunrate=4.75 (179-10)
Hamlin 7-3-9-1
Middleton* 4 (11 balls)
Dudgeon 0 (2 balls)
Last Wicket: Bhate c. Taylor b. Hamlin 47 (FOW: 104/6)

Resting Harris, Moloto & Groves, was a little worried when I was dismissed for just 179, but it seems my bowlers are going to do the job for me.

BARNES OUT
And that's the end of the match. Unhappy Meals won by 5 wickets.
Central Districts 143-10
Unhappy Meals 144-5

Could've been in with a shout if I had 20 or so more runs, Seneviratne was on fire with pretty good figures, whereas Pryde probably (unsurprisingly) cost me the match.

Seneviratne 5-2-6-3
Pryde 10-1-53-0

Better than I expected anyway.

Through to the third round. Yesssss.

Victorian Bushrangers - 238/8 off 50 overs
Heggett 96 (86)
Drew 36 (42)
Kous 34 (34)
Smart 3/33 (10)
Hindle 2/36 (10)

lost to

Brackenhurst - 241/1 off 40.5 overs
Burnip 118 (126)
Read 117* (119)

Would have lost the match if it wasn't for Smart. Early strikes against their proficient top-order were always going to be the key and Smart was immense. Our fielding was top-notch aswell. Burnip + Read = 200-run partnerships lots.

Won quite comfortably in the end by 34 runs. Verhoeven was awesome with 6-13 from 8, and Hamlin with 2-11 from 10. Meyer starred with the bat scoring 80.

Had an easy Cup win today, I doubt i'll get much further though given the dire state of my bowling attack and a luck of funds with which to buy a decent seamer.
