Got my trainee for the year yesterday - paid over the odds for him at £500k but I was out when bidding finished and wanted to make sure of him.

Daren Prutton (1725050)

RH Batsman, RH Spin Bowler, respectable batting form, respectable bowling form, energetic
An attacking player with competent leadership skills and abysmal experience.

Plays For: The Heath CC
Nationality: England
Age: 17 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 6,403 (-28)
Wages: £751 p/w

Stamina: respectable Wicket Keeping: abysmal
Batting: feeble Concentration: worthless
Bowling: competent Consistency: mediocre
Fielding: abysmal

Wages look ok, but the stamina makes it hard to tell I guess - can anyone give me a rough idea of how close to respectable he is in his bowling?

Meanwhile, Kepler is going for it against Essex Eagles, well supported by Grant (51) and Caldwell (48)

The players are off the field for tea.

Got him for 31k, what a steal. Can't believe the money that people are paying for secondaries.

EDIT: Will become the first player in my first-team to have a surname with more than 6 letters.

Stamina doesn't affect wages to my knowledge so quite surprised he's not respectable already to be honest.

Oh, really? That's good, he should at least be near then. In which case, 500k doesn't sound so bad. I sold a comp/comp/comp RF bowling YP for nearly 600k a week or so ago, so I've at least covered my costs.

Awesome innings from Kepler (203) saw The Heath CC to 400/4 from 100 overs, giving us 13 overs to bowl at Essex Eagles before the close. Woods turned it on, taking a couple of wickets to go with a runout to reduce them to 17/3, still 175 runs behind. It's looking good for an innings victory and a good payout from our first home game of the season.

Err yes it does. They're still at the very worst over halfway to respectable bowling and could easily be a week off respectable bowling if you're lucky

Well you learn something new every day. That mean a respectable stamina adds ~£750 to the wages?

Egham CC 276/10 (79.1) & 133/7 (41.0)
Bell 11-2-32-3 & Darby 11-1-35-3

BEST Indies 603/4 dec (99.0)

Carib Beer XI 258 all out

Dynamo Morpork 271 all out
James 108, Virk 82; Hewlett 7/53

Carib Beer XI 179 for two
McGhee 67, Eyre 56

Carib Beer XI lead by 166 runs with eight wickets in hand

Lost nine for 43, mostly to Hewlett, who is only slightly above remarkable. Very annoyed as I really thought a deep line-up was my strength in this format. Their openers once again smashed things about, but with their star at No. 3 in woeful batting form there's a chance of early incisions tomorrow.

Also, BEST Indies winning in FC? What is the world coming to?

Regardless of how close to respectable bowling he is, one feels you got hosed, Spitfire.

Yeah, in relation to Solanki, but 31k is an unbelievable price for a comp/med trainee at this early stage of the season.

I'm taking heart from this guy who's currently on the market:

Darren Laws (1733948)

RH Batsman, RH Spin Bowler, respectable batting form, respectable bowling form, fresh

His wages aren't much higher than Prutton's, and yet he's a resp/comp bowler, albeit with one level less of stamina. So it looks as though Prutton should pop pretty soon, and I don't think that 500k for a soon-to-be resp/med YP is too bad at all. Nibbs currently has a bid of 225k on Laws, but there's still nearly 48 hours to go, so I guess he'll be going up a fair bit yet.

Sold my YP's for 7 and 1k respectively. They were both med/med/med and tbf not a bad deal if you were just starting out in this game. Obviously not being competent or respectable won't make them as gun as they would be being trained from mediocre by the time they're say 21, but they'd still obviously be very handy players by about that time. Just amazing how much the difference between 1 primary is in regards to the TM.

Yeah it is a staggering jump - I think I mentioned a page or two back that I sold a comp/comp/comp YP for 590k - the best part of 600k is a big jump for just one increase in each of the three disciplines, but as I'm no longer really a newbie, I have the money and I guess it's necessary to get the extra class if I want to keep improving my side at a good rate...

My rival, bogey team and Friday's opponent in V. 226 (OD) just got his ass handed to him in two days a VI (FC) match while my supposedly competitive declaration means my win against my bot opposition drags on into day 3. All in all awful news.

won my FC match in under a day, was pretty annoyed cos it means i get less gate receipts but after last years disasters it was a welcome win

Lancashire 453-3(63 overs - Challinor 248*, Magloire 80, Abdul Kadir 67*)

Ducks of wales 25 (Islam 5-7) and 18 (islam 4-3) by an innings and 410 runs.

Scoring rate is ludicrously slow but I should be able to get the follow on and the win.
