There was a thread in the England sledging about Fambridge actually, they thought it might be the biggest squad in the game. It's quite astounding how rubbish a manager he must be to have never left div V after two and a bit years playing the game.

Kepler hates the ball and wants it to die, I see.

*flay*

*crash*

*lampard*
Yeah, I saw that and added to it. I dunno what he's up to to be honest. He has some decent players compared to my squad, but then this is only my 2nd season!

Anyway, Kepler is going berserk, Caldwell is doing great as well.

End of Over 27: 185-1, runrate=6.85
Roberts 1-0-6-0
Kepler* 99 (69 balls)
Caldwell 62 (62 balls)

Last Wicket: Bartlett b. Watson 20 (FOW: 56/1)

Edit: Ahhh, Kepler out for 107 from 74 balls but Gardiner comes in to help Caldwell smack 15 from the next over.

I now find myself in the unusual position of having a better chance of winning promotion from my Div.IV FC league than I have from my Div.III Od league.

Until Monday my priorities were clear - Chuck the kitchen sink at OD, and try and do enough in FC to stay in the top four. But with the NRR recalculation, I'm now in second in OD, 15 runs behind first, whereas in FC I'm top, albeit still with a very real chance of being relegated.

My FC league looks something like this: 1. Cymru Gurgitaters, 156, 2. Welsh Wizards, 152, 3. Turnip Town, 149, 4. Ruatha, 146, 5. Flying Wickets, 145, 6. Freddy's Chunky Wood, 135.

Turnip Town are in Free-fall, having led for most of the season. I have them next up, followed by Welsh Wizards, who are probably the best team in our league since they've decided to take FC seriously, and finally a gi'me against 8th.

Didn't really want to promote in FC, as I don't have the depth of squad to be competitive in both codes, but my bloody-minded streak is demanding that I go for any trophy up for grabs.

Anyway, after today my priorities may become a little clearer. I'm GFIing against 3rd place Murhphy's Sweaty Box, but sadly I think he is too. They're currently 133/1 after 27, and I reckon 220 would be a good score on my slow pitch. Bewers and Wilde have been tidy, but the rest are going around the park.

Reckon today's GFI gives Tharmi the edge for Sunday's CW Cup quarter, but I'll be going full strength, and it should still be a hell of a match. Greening and Jethoon match up exactly I think. Them aside, I reckon I have the edge on the batting, he has the edge on the bowling, so I reckon it'll come down to who's supporting cast can chip in the most.

Laters, Trev

What, he runs up and thwacks it high and wide of the target, rather than giving Gerrard an easy through-ball? 8-)

I'm playing GM-Waterhoose and The Tykes today. In a rare move, I opened with Sandwith...who promply got run out for a duck, leaving me 3/2. Reed and McGregor recovered, until the former was caught and bowled...103/3, with a collapse imminent...

UPDATE: And there it is. 139/6 from 39 overs. Bugger.

1. lampard, verb (tr) - cause dismay in longsuffering fans by unaccountably fat-footing the ball into row Z without looking up.

2. lampard, noun (offensive) - one who repeatedly and with malice aforethought lampards (1) without provocation.

Usage: "He's only gone and f***ing lamparded it again. What a bloody lampard."

Thats the ratings that 2nd in my league got today, he has only lost to me, so only 1 win behind, although his NRR is 10ish behind, so it would take miracle for him to pass me. Though i want to auto-promote, so will be GFI'n, should be an interesting match in a couple of weeks, especially if he GFI's me back.

Speaking of auto-promotion, currently 8th on the table, and, just looking, even if i lost i would still be above the line. So III, he i come (probably)

Losing a few wickets now with a couple of new batsmen at the crease, but we should get over 300 which will be competitive.

End of Over 43: 286-5, runrate=6.65

Gibson 7 (5 balls)

It'd be funny if it wasn't true

167/9 in my match, with 3 overs left. Don't think I'll get (m)any more. On a flat track and a sunny day, The Tykes' long batting line-up shouldn't have any trouble.

Given that we're old friends, I'm going to take a lot of stick for losing to him twice this season. Looks like I'm bound for an OD relegation play-off at season's end :(

Great effort from Caldwell (108) and Kepler (107) with Gardiner, Gibson, Talbot and Bartlett all providing some support. Now it's down to Woods and co to make their mark with the ball.

Edit:

3.5 W Turner to Brownfield
What a snorter by Turner! Beast of a delivery rears up right at the throat, Brownfield is stunned at the extra bounce and just fends at it, eyes completely off the ball. The ball pops up and a simple catch is taken by Caldwell at short leg.
3.4 W Turner to Weaver
Massive shout from bowler and keeper. Umpire agrees. He was caught right in front there.

Two wickets in two balls leave Fambridge in trouble and us firmly in the driving seat :)

The talented but knackered Willetts goes in the middle of a welter of wickets (yes, there can be such a welter), and it's all looking rather rosy for the Heath.

My botmatch is all over for about a +6.5 NRR boost as I look to move up the promotion table.

Our best win ever. Batting display was tremendous and our bowlers never relented. So, so stoked about it. Our best ratings ever aswell, though it goes without saying.

Pretty sad that, barring a mathematical miracle, my promotion push from Div.III is over for this season at least.

Murphy's Sweaty Box 270/9, Heads 133, Gilbert 71, Nelson 30*, Bewers 3/59, Jeffery 5/55
Cymru Gurgitaters 244 A/O, Greening 133, King 3/53,

Sens/Strong/Feeb - Qual/Strong/Med GFI ratings aren't a great deal of comfort. Oh well, at least Quot Boys' defeat means that I'm guarantied of safety, 20 points clear of fifth with only three games to go.

So all attention turns to Tharmi, and the FC title, which I didn't really want!!

Those are pretty darn decent ratings Nath! :)
Was just about to say the same thing!

Won my league match against a bot easily as expected. We batted first as a change and Fordham scored 120 opening the batting. Thinking that might by his new position.

The Heath CC: 337/6 (50) Caldwell 108, Kepler 107
Fambridge: 186/10 (36.4) Turner 3/42, Westwood 3/43

Powered to a comprehensive victory today which takes us 4 points clear at the top of the league. Caldwell won the MOTM award for his 108 from 104 deliveries, although his innings was made to look relatively turgid when considered alongside Kepler's brutal 107 from 74 balls. Woods was off colour with the ball following his exploits in FC cricket earlier in the week but Turner turned in a promising performance, taking 3/42, whilst Westwood and Hennessy also chipped in with wickets to make sure that a defiant knock of 72* from 76 balls by Fambridge number 8 Rizwanullah had absolutely no bearing on the result.

GFI ratings:

The Heath CC
Top Order: respectable
Middle Order: mediocre
Lower Order: abysmal
Seam Bowling: competent
Spin Bowling: mediocre
Fielding: feeble
