I've got a question of a tactical nature. My opponent has a batting attack that is roughly equal to my bowling, but his bowling is a bit better than my batting (alright, a fair bit better). My pitch is currently dusty - I think I should change my pitch to H&F or Flat to even up the mismatch between my batting and his bowling.

1) SHOULD I do this? 2) Flat or H&F? 3) What's the quickest way to get from Dusty to that pitch?

Appreciate it.

hmm, rob. during my cup run last season, when i beat 2 sides from the top division, i used a flat pitch, because i felt my batting was stronger, and on the first two attempts it worked and i won both times. when i was eventually beaten in the semis, i lost to a side that had better batsmen or at least one player in particular. i think, that it would probably give you a better chance if you went for a batsmen friendly pitch. having said this, it by no means is a guarantee of victory. if his bowlers are good enough, there is no reason why they can't destroy you in one foul swoop.

Yeah, what I'm wondering is whether I should change to Flat or H&F, and what's the quickest way to change to one of the two.

depends what you're changing from. you've got 2 days worth of updates to get there, so i'd say you'd probably be only able to shift up 1 or down 1 on the list...

For Got Spin-- Mccammon was out for 207 off 178, and you declared:

End of Over 73: 401-5, runrate=5.49
Stanway 21-2-91-2
Pilgrim* 20 (37 balls)
Grady 1 (12 balls)
Last Wicket: Mccammon lbw b. Stanway 207 (FOW: 394/5)

Then Boardman's first over went for 12 and he got taken off, and after 7 overs they were 0/32. You ended with them on 1/70 odd, with them scoring at about 4 an over. Sainsbury got the wicket.

Thanks for the information mate. Shame his double won't count now

Current net situation:

Disley (prof bat) 2x bat, 1 x field
Lovegrove (ecept bowl) 2x bowl
Giles (prof bowl) 1x bowl, 1x fitness, 1x stamina
Tucker (remark bat) 2x bat

Now, should i take one of Lovers bowling nets and put it on Giles or wait till he pops to sensational? Should i take Giles fitness net and put it on Tucker (med stamina) or Unsworth (comp stamina) for a while? And should i give Lovers a fielding net to get him a few secondary pops before next season?

Am not sure what Lovegrove's secondaries are like, but maybe just give him one bowling, one fielding net? But it's hard to really say without being able to see their ages, secondaries, etc.

Hmmm.... To be honest, I don't see much wrong with your net setting in terms of numbers of nets. Tucker could do with some better stamina, but the same goes for Giles, so maybe just give Tucker one batting net and one fitness net for a while, to get his stamina up? Depends what you're looking to do I suppose. Given how strong your players are though, and the fact that you're in Div 3, while I'm floundering in Div 4, it may be better not to listen to me :p

Wonder if Battrick will actually be a buyer's market for a change... anyway if there's ever a time to buy those competents to get a fill out a squad it's now.
