Yeah I was thinking of bidding on him if I didn't get Watkins, as I'd still have enough money left over to get close to the 80k interest so I could afford to pay his wages. No need however, no one else bidded on Watkins so I got him for only (!) 2.91m. It's quite a lot, sure, but he's now probably my best batsman (sublevels notwisthstanding) and my second-best bowler, and presumably with training will shortly be my best in both. Strong stamina helps, as does his fielding which I really need and defensive temperament which is perfect for the role I want him to play.
Unfortunately his fitness is on 'low' at the moment so it's unlikely he'll be able to play a major role (if at all) against nibbs in the cup final. With Cuss not playing, Watkins maybe not playing (or playing in a reduced capacity), Ashton and Badley gone, my team looks laughably weak...
Ashton sold for 636k which isn't that much but still a bit more than I bought him for.
I've basically only got six proper players at the moment, assuming Badley goes for 1m+ I'll have 600k+ to spend on one more bowler before next season. It doesn't bother me too much since there are no FC games next season so there's no real need for great squad depth, however I'll be looking to fill the other four or five places with strong+ players by the end of season.
Will probably give him 3 or 4 nets. Maybe 3 to start with, until his fitness gets back up towards sublime. Probably one batting, two bowling and potentially one fielding as well, depends on whether my next bowling purchase is worth training or not. Would be able to give him another batting net when Cuss pops but that would be overkill, though if I were to do that it'd be best to do it now before FC starts.
