Wait..Does fielding still help increase the rate of pops for secondries for young guys?

Damn if it does i need to give Allen some fielding..
the older the player the faster it will increase the rate of those secondaries popping...

It is worthwhile to give fielding to a 17yr old? I really need his secondries to increase

Charlie Allen - 17 yo, BT Rating=12,569
RH Batsman, RFM Bowler, respectable batting form, competent bowling form, fair
A destructive player with strong leadership skills and worthless experience.
Stamina: woeful Wicket Keeping: competent
Batting: strong Concentration: feeble
Bowling: proficient Consistency: worthless
Fielding: abysmal

so adam how are you going to go in the world cup?
Probably pretty poorly, having looked at the draw. We've got 2,4,1,3 in the first four rounds, which means our morale will be stuffed after a few days unless we pull off an upset. Depends largely on how well we can restore player fitness before the WC, as a lot of the players are getting 8+ nets and are effectively useless at the moment as their individual fitness is non-existent.

It halves secondary training times. Keeping helps secondaries pop the same as fielding.
I'm aware of that, but it doesn't halve it as primary nets contribute to the rate of secondaries increasing as well. Now that training times have been changed, it will have even less effect; in any case I've noticed people getting faster secondary pops for primary+fielding than fielding+keeping. Meh, do what you like, I just think it's a waste of a net to give a non-WK an WK net.

I was just wondering if people were forward planning to train up stamina with FC games in mind.
I've been using two stamina nets for most of the season now. Slow progress, but I've got most of my main players up to competent+ stamina which I think will be the basic minimum for FC. The exceptions are Wynand (mediocre, getting fitness training now) and Gillespie (mediocre, who I'm trying to sell).

One of my bowlers, Male, has crap stamina and it'll take too long to train him up (he's not that good so it wouldn't be worth it anyway), so I'm selling him (current bid 320k) and hopefully buying another bowler or batsman with good stamina.

Young players still increase fairly reasonably anyway. Moodley is popping every 1-2 weeks in consistency which is interesting.

Hmm, I've got 18 ITS ATM, so I'm thinking of bunging 12 on batting, 4 Stam and 3 Conc, and seeing what I can turn up. Figuring my luck has got to change soon, as I haven't had a YP all season with any natural batting talent. Had one med WK as well as one Feeb and one Med bowler without using any ITS, but never any batting. Plus, as Sod's Law would dictate, any time I've invested ITS in a player, they've had no natural talent whatsoever. So I'm due a YP super star - Think I'd settle for a 17yo Prof Bat with Comp Stam and Feeb Conc…I don't want to be greedy!

Later, Trev
I'd wait till next season to use any ITS, Trev. They're going to age in about five weeks or so, so you'll lose all that training time you'd normally get with a 17 yo.

I was going to save them all up and pull three players in the first few weeks, but I don't see the point now as I'm not going to train any of my YPs anyway. If I got a prof/prof WK/batsman or something I might, but that's unlikely. Theoretically they should be more valuable at the start of the season, but since everyone else is going to have the same idea they probably won't be worth much more. I should still have about 60-70 ITS though.

If you're planning to train a YP then it's definitely worth holding off till next season.

I'm rather annoyed that my YP has gone up 3 levels in keeping
1 in batting and 1-2 in stamina AND ZERO in concentration in about 8 weeks
i dont undrstand

Six is about right I think, one isn't going to do much. If I were you I'd just be happy that you got three WK pops in 8 weeks, which is two more than usual.

How many nets is he getting though? Cause Canning and Tedstone are both on two batting and two bowling, and I've not yet seen a secondary pop without using fielding.
