Hey guys i was wondering if someone could give me a run down of the basics you need to spend money. i.e how important are coaches, acadamy and training?

I'll be brief now, but I'll try to be more indepth later.

Coaches are very important. If you want to get awesome players (without spending heaps of money, like ridiculous amounts), you need to train them up. The younger the player, the quicker they'll train. Coaches and the attributes they train -
Fitness: Stamina
Batting: Batting & Concentration
Bowling: Bowling & Consistency
Keeping: Keeping, Consistency & Concentration
Fielding: Fielding, Consistency & Concentration

Each attribute takes a different amount of time to go up a level. This time increases by 1 week (Training updates once per week) with each year the player ages. ie; with 1 batting net on a 17 year old, batting will go up a level every 11 weeks, and 12 weeks with an 18yo. There are also sublevels - complicated, but I'll explain it later.

Hope that helps for now, I'll do more later.

Check out Adam's advice on page 16 of this thread, too, it's very helpful

Edit: Sorry, that's page 14. Here's the link for the post. Just ignore the part about the youth system as it's changed

Also i was wondering how often players get injuried, i.e how big your sqauds need to be?
Injuries arnt in the game yet but i think they may come in future seasons.

The minimum squad size is 14, but you probably should consider just having maybe 16 or 17, as when they play matches, a player's fitness will drop. Therefore, it may be a good idea to rest a key player during an easier match so that he will be ready for a harder game.

Yeah, injuries haven't been introduced yet, but fitness plays a really big factor in how well your team goes. Go to your "Nets" page to see Morale and Fitness. An average team, with good Morale and Fitness, could beat a really good team that was low on the two. A new introduction this season is invididual fitness, which seems to have quite a big impact.

You can increase your fitness through various ways - but the most effective is using the "Take It Easy" option when you play games. You should only do this in games where you're certain to win. With individual fitness, you can rest certain players, move them down the batting order so they don't bat as long (and hence lose more fitness).

if you're playing bot teams, you can save a fair bit of fitness by bowling first, and avoiding having to bat for 50 overs.

I don't think Team fitness is that important anymore, and setting your team on GFI doesn't seem to be making a difference either. Personal fitness seems to be the most important factor at the moment, and its important to have your key players undergo some fitness training.

Also, how much does keeping make your secondries rise faster? The same as fielding?

An all right training session:

Matthew Ridgewell - 18 yo, BT Rating=10,888
RH Batsman, RH Spin Bowler, superb batting form, superb bowling form, sublime
A cautious player with worthless leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Stamina: competent Wicket Keeping: competent
Batting: proficient Concentration: competent
Bowling: woeful Consistency: woeful
Fielding: abysmal

Eddie Saunders - 18 yo, BT Rating=11,075
LH Batsman, LF Bowler, superb batting form, superb bowling form, energetic
A destructive player with strong leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Stamina: proficient Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: proficient Concentration: competent
Bowling: abysmal Consistency: abysmal
Fielding: abysmal

Also if anyone is interested in a young bowling prospect, have a bid :) or just push the price up.

How is everyone going to use their ITS?

I can see myself doing this -

12 batting
12 bowling
12 stamina

I don't want to risk doing 12 stamina, 12 batting and 12 concentration on someone who was naturally talented as a bowler. And in either case, I'll get myself - at the very least - a "decent" trainee allrounder. (ie; feeble/feeble). If they're naturally talented in either, I could find myself with a proficient primary :-O

Hmm that's a good point there Rob, didn't think of that. I was originally just gonna do 12 stamina, bowling and consistency, but I think I'll do that now. Just have to wait two more weeks...

For some reason, India got double the amount of ITS than anyone else last week. :D

Pity I hadn't changed to 20,000 (forgot to) or else I'd have got 10 free sessions, as it was I only got 12 for the price of 6. One more week I reckon and I'll let 32 loose on someone. :cool2:

Why not just wait another week for 36?

Well that was the rumour but I got another 10 this week and they didn't take any away from me.

Can't be bother to wait another week, I'm too impatient. :p

I think that's what I'm going to end up doing to be honest.

Had 3 pops in the training update, 2 of them were as expected (Rich Pace popping in consistency was an added bonus). Had a lot of form drops tho.

Still can't get over that guy's name... Rich Pace... sounds like spoof superhero.
