NorCricket v Newcastle Knights looking likely for the BT20 final, though DLOE could beat Newcastle. With any luck a couple of NorCricket's players will be at less than peak fitness when we meet in the first round.

I was watching the Newcastle game, they needed 8 runs off the last 2 overs, and had 5 wickets in hand. The 19th over went for 2 runs, with 3 wickets, leaving them with 6 to win with only 2 wickets in hand. Was alot more exciting then what i thought it would be. Would have been **** if they lost.

Also 3 out of 4 of the teams left are Aussie, so gun.

Don't know exactly what last season's wages were, but have a pretty good idea:

Bewers £5400 >£8488
Carlton £2040 >£2853
Cash £3223 >£3406
Greening £8200 >£14988
Mohammed £1089 >£1814
Noon £3130 >£6709
Patel £1879 >£2183
Staveley £4970 >£7714
Wilde £949 >£2709
Total Wages £41034 >£60920 (+£19886)

No pops today, but judging by Mohammed and Bewers' wages, they can only be a week or so away, with Staveley, Carlton and Wilde following in the next couple of months.

Cup oppos aren't as easy as I'd have hoped, but not too bad either. They're mainly a mix of Resps and Comps, with one Strong Bat and one Prof Bowl, they're pulling ratings of Feeb/Woe/Wor - Med/Feeb/Feeb. Hoping to TIE it, and rest nearly everyone who's undergoing training, so that leaves me with a team of:

1. Mohammed - Prof/Feeb
2. Qureshi - Prof/Resp
3B4. Cash - Resp/Sup Bat, Strong/Prof LHS
4*. Patel - Strong/Resp
5. Wynne-Willson - Comp/Abs
6. Creasy - Comp/Abs
7B5. Manzini - Med/Woe Bat, Med/Woe RHS
8B1. Edworthy - Woe/Med Bat, Resp/Med RFM
9+. Harrad - Woe/Wor Bat, Med WK
10B2. Bent - Resp/Feeb RFM
11B3. Bridges M - Sup/Prof RHS

Do you think I'll get away with it? Anyway, could be subject to change if I pull a decent YP tomorrow.

Later, Trev

How do you guys manage to keep track of pops, wages, form etc all at the same time? Is it part of the membership package?
I use Batman - you paste in your squad page once a week, and it tracks most things for you (not wages, that I've noticed). If you're really bored you can paste in your nets page too so it'll track precisely who's received what nets, but since my training program isn't due to change for another season or so, I can never be bothered.

Membership highlights any week-on-week changes in green when you look at a player's profile, nothing particularly useful. The shortcuts (to teams and players) is probably the most useful perk as far as I can tell.

International Captain
Tim Morrison - 20 yo, BT Rating=49,700
RH Batsman, RFM Bowler, superb batting form, superb bowling form, sublime
A steady player with mediocre leadership skills and woeful experience.
Stamina: strong Wicket Keeping: proficient
Batting: remarkable Concentration: quality
Bowling: mediocre Consistency: respectable
Fielding: worthless

James Vermaak - 20 yo, BT Rating=35,128
RH Batsman, RH Spin Bowler, superb batting form, superb bowling form, energetic
A defensive player with abysmal leadership skills and woeful experience.
Stamina: respectable Wicket Keeping: abysmal
Batting: respectable Concentration: mediocre
Bowling: wonderful Consistency: respectable
Fielding: proficient

I'm hoping that Mod-Ash was more or less correct when he said Morrison was already about half way to Wonderful batting, because in that case he is due a batting pop any week now. His keeping should also progress to strong with the next week or two. Vermaak is now closing in on Proficient Consistency. I'm hoping he'll be close to Superb by the end of the season. He isn't far off of becoming the sides number #1 fielder either.

All this form stuff on the move again, pretty lame. Duggan went down 600, after enjoying rises of 1000 each week for the past few months. Hamshaw and Lennon both dropped to strong batting form which isn't cool either.

Yeah, the cup is on.

First semi final of the T20 lived up to its hype. Newcastle Knights going down to Dark Laird of Etive. DLOE needed 27 off the last 12 balls, and their batters stepped up, hitting 23 off the next 7, making the win an almost sure thing. 4 off 5 in T20, easy right? Not when the next four balls go for 2 runs and 1 wicket. The last ball was craked for 4, taking out the Australian champs in probably the best game of T20 to date, was exciting to watch.
