probably, but surely he must have a younger player with far great potential who those nets could be used on

Oh and Mark, I'm not really sure how to put this without sounding patronising, but sorry it wasn't a very interesting or competitive match. I had intended to try and pick a side which would have matched up pretty close to your ratings, but with the outage hitting, I couldn't get in to change things around and it went with my default orders.
Don't worry about it mate, I made a fair few changes, trying some new players in new positions - some of them did better than expected, some didn't!

Yeah I do but i feel its important to have an alllrounder and it helps my team balance greatly.

What would you suggest otherwise?

Get a bowling all rounder, sooner or later that guy will only be able to play as a batsmen only.

yeh, buy a younger allrounder also...not sure why you would waste your time with that guy.

Bought yet another English allrounder yesterday. Wasn't planning on buying another allrounder but with FC not coming in till season 7 there's no real reason not to. Think I can just spend the next few seasons gradually accumulating more batsmen to fill out the middle order, seeing as four of my five current bowlers are decent batsmen so I can bat down to 10.

18yo strong bat/prof bowl, cost me 2.5m but he's been trained heavily so should be reaching superb/strong by the end of the season with one net in each. His other skills are decent enough. Means I've got too many bowlers so I'll sell Beaumont, which I was planning on doing anyway.

Hmmm! Toying with the idea of pulling an YP next week, as my end of season theory about Yps getting more generous appears to be borne out again this week. Although, having said that, whilst it seems to work across the board, it's never actually worked for me personally…Adam:-) By next week I'll have 32 ITS again, so I guess I'll wait and see what everyone gets, then maybe have a dabble on Monday.

Also, could anyone in the know give me some advice on how to maximise my income please? Currently I have 1513 members and a bank balance of £322K, with 2 PROs and 3 FAs. With a 23K capacity ground, which has come within a thousand of sell-out for my last three home matches, it just seems as though my revenue is growing less quickly than equivalent sized clubs?

BTW Scaly, as you noticed, it does rain rather a lot in Wales! My own God's city of Swansea has the dubious accolade of being the wettest City in the UK. Mind you, that's just one of the honours in its Hall of Fame, as it was also voted the fourth ugliest place in Britain, has the third highest rate of car crime, and is the undisputed Chlamydia Capital of England and Wales. Stands to reason really! If you live somewhere with all the aesthetic charm of a builder's arse, where it's pissing down ninety percent of the time, what else is there to do but joy-ride and shag each other?

Later, Trev (The sports journalist who went on record as saying he was going to bed at eleven O'clock last night, as not even Warne could breathe life into the second test!)

Mmmmm...chlamydia...

Best make sure that no Swansea residents find out that you're putting your location down as "nr Cardiff"!

How does it look as though you'll do next season? Are you going to promote/demote, or dominate your current league? If you're going to be in the same league as this season, but looking like you'll do better (e.g. win all your matches as opposed to scrambling home in 4th), it might be worth adding a few thousand seats a few weeks into the season. Especially if you reckon you'll have a decent cup run (e.g. if your team is a bit too good for your current level).

Haha, I'm 2nd in II.1 now after this happened:

http://www.battrick.org/nl/matchInfo.asp?matchID=569368

The guy who took 6/31 is a respectable at best. India is such a joke, My ratings, after selling my middle order, last week were:

Boggles
Top Order: strong
Middle Order: feeble
Lower Order: abysmal
Seam Bowling: respectable
Spin Bowling: competent
Fielding: feeble

That wouldn't get me out of Div IV in England & Australia. :D

Grrrr market is always crap when I'm able to hang around for the transfer deadlines. Oh and give us the stats of that all-rounder you bought Adam and I'll tell you how high he is, may as well do something useful while the market is rubbish.

Excuse me Mahindinho! I'm 3rd in my DIV IV league, not scrambling for 4th! What's more, I'm only four points behind top, with matches against the top two still to come - So Spin:-)

But seriously, I doubt I'm going to win either of my last two matches, so I will be in the same league next season. Whether I dominate it or not very much depends who's promoted/relegated into it, and what the other two existing members do over the closed season. They seem to have money to burn, whereas things are still tight for me, so I guess I could be overtaken.

In short, there's a possibility that I could be competing for the title next season, but it's more likely that I'll be in a similar kind'a position again. By next season my top seven will be:
Qual/Prof, Strong/Resp, Rem/Resp, Strong/Med, Strong/Prof, Resp/Sup, Resp/Woe.
The bowling will be: Qual/Prof, Resp/Med, Sup/Strong, Strong/Resp, Resp/Feeb.

So I guess I'm a good to average Div IV side. I'll keep an eye on ground expansion, but TBH I haven't yet sold out my existing 23K. Is there anything else I can do in terms of PROs and Fas?

Later, Trev

I hope not! I'm having a clearout:

Tristan Curtis - 27yo - cautious - RH bat, RH Spin
BTR 9,258
Wages £1,342pw
Prof/Feeb batsman
Med/Resp spinner
Abysmal fielding, Feeble stamina
Might be useful for a lower-level team with a spare secondary training slot.
Listed for £0

Ciaran Clancy - 23yo - destructive - RH bat (only Mediocre batting form)
BTR 3,072
Wages £716pw
Resp/Feeble bat, naff all else
Listed for £22,222

Fran Danvers - 25yo - attacking - WK, LH bat (Worthless batting form)
BTR 3,988
Wages £1,010
Resp/Woeful WK with Feeble fielding
Woe/Med bat
Listed for £0

Deadlines all on Friday afternoon.

Curtis has been in my first team from the start, and up until this season was my main all-rounder.

Bugger! I've just realised that Danvers is probably very high Respectable in his wicketkeeping...I might buy him back if he doesn't fetch a decent price.

I was just using that as an example, without looking at your team at all. Still, point noted and apology offered ;)

Sounds as though you'll do alright next season, with more members, so perhaps set some cash away for expanding your ground halfway through the season.

Definitely looks like a strong Div IV side - if some of those better players are still being trained, you (hopefully!) shouldn't be in there for too long.

I don't know much about the financial side, TBH - I'm only just starting to look at things in terms of profits and money in the bank, having spent most of my BT existence scrounging for pennies.
