Maybe its cus you got no middle order...
Oh really. You think a competant bowler would be able to get out an exceptional and wonderful batsmen as well as other competant batsmen?

Well they had been batting for a while, it's not as if they're invincible. You wouldn't expect it to happen that often, but if a worthless bowler were to bowl to an elite batsman enough times, he'd eventually get him out.

Anyway, am a bit annoyed at my loss today. I really should've GFIed instead of PAN, probably could've come off with a win.

Magical Ponies 171 (46.3)
Sutton 62 (119), Griffin 30 (35), Tedstone 21 (51)

Wielders 5/175 (41.2)
Canning 1/27 (10), Erasmus 1/17 (5.2), Fernando 1/34 (6)

Wielders Magical Ponies
Top Order: strong competent
Middle Order: competent respectable
Lower Order: abysmal abysmal
Seam Bowling: proficient proficient
Spin Bowling: respectable respectable
Fielding: woeful abysmal
MOTM: Sutton

Strange choice of MOTM there. Two of his bowlers took 4 wickets (4/21 and 4/33), but Sutton's 62 in a losing cause gets him the award

Depends what their other stats are. Based on primaries alone, the wage for a strong player is ~£1,850, and a superb player ~£3,250, so the second guy obviously has some other skills contributing to his wage.

To be quite honest, I don't care what you think. I'm only playing Battrick for some fun and I don't take it really seriously.
To be honest if you were looking for advice, I wouldn't listen to him anyway.

I wouldn't listen to me either, but at least I don't try and tell you what to do with your players.

Kipper XI v Allstars @ Trentington Oval

Allstars: 57

Goodman 18

Davies 4-3
Vernon 4-27

Kipper XI: 1-58

Brydon 27*
Dove 26*

Rincon-Hanna 1-9

Result: Kipper XI win by 9 Wickets

MotM: Brydon (27*)

Attendance was 17,970 with Sitting and Standing areas sold-out, which I thought was pretty good given the standard of the opposition :)

Could get interesting in my game if my top three don't get out cheaply.

On a green pitch, I won the toss and bowled first. After their 50 overs, they finished on 286/2 which I think might be gettable....then again, they are way better than Smith and I still lost that. :p

All about the first 20 overs really.

PY

International Coach
Well, the first 20 went brilliantly, I stole 102 for the loss of 1 wicket.

The next six have gone very well too with the score on 140/1. Chanderpaul has 75* (72) and Moodley has 29* (50). I set Moodley to defensive because I wanted to make sure someone good stuck around with Chanderpaul for at least a few overs.

EDIT: Massive 28th over, 18 runs coming from it. Moodley with 2 sixes! I bet I calypso soon.

EDIT: Got to:

End of Over 36: 205-1, runrate=5.69, reqrunrate=5.86 (286-2)
Dangasela 8-0-34-0
Moodley* 59 (81 balls)
Chanderpaul 108 (95 balls)

Then lost 5/23 in 7 overs and now looks like I've lost. :(

With Chanderpaul stuck at the other end, darn Moodley for getting out.

What the hell is wrong with this game. Look at this collapse, started by a ****ing competant bowler.

End of Over 47: 338-2, runrate=7.19, reqrunrate=6.33 (356-3)

Then...

End of Over 50: 346-10, runrate=6.92

What a load of trash to be honest. Mccammon was on 179(136) and Allen on 88(75). Then suddenly there's this huge collapse.

This guy ended up with 7/67

Jason Mullis (63108)

Battrick Rating: 3,165
Wages: £475 p/w

That's absolutely brutal, that guy can't even have decent secondaries. I know your other middle order bats are crap, but the pitch is obviously high scoring and the bowling is as crap anyway, so that's no viable excuse.

For the record I'm 152-0 after 22 against a team I should flog.

Oh and get in there... the team that overtook me on NRR last week got rolled for 56...

State Vice-Captain
I'm batting, TIEing against the team in 5th/6th, and in a spot of bother:

End of Over 22: 135-4, runrate=6.14
Crockett 6-0-42-0
Reed* 52 (44 balls)
Curtis 7 (10 balls)

McGregor out for not a lot, and Sandwith came and went in a few balls.

UPDATE: Reed's just gone, leaving the tail with next to no protection. I'm in A LOT of trouble here.

Yea, I expect with that stamina they'll go for more than they're worth, their stamina is superfluous anyway as they're only a (weak) medium pacer who can bat a little.

Gah, got rolled for 279, 7 short. 9 wickets lost for 74 runs.

Was so close to an upset. Should've PAN rather than TIE as thought I'd get thumped.

Failing Hazards 286/2 (50 overs)

Sekani 1/47
Liyanage 1/37

Boggles 279 all out (49.3)

Chanderpaul 152* (125)
Moodley 59 (83)

Maloney (prof) took 3 wickets with the first three balls of the final over. :(

Ratings:

Failing Hazards Boggles
Top Order: superb strong
Middle Order: competent feeble
Lower Order: abysmal abysmal
Seam Bowling: strong respectable
Spin Bowling: quality competent
Fielding: feeble feeble

Scorecard shows my batting frailties really, 2 superbs and a remarkable in the top 3 then 2 respectables and a load of crappy competent and mediocres.
