Oh, and Whitehorne lost 21,000 BTR for no apparent reason. Pretty much every player in WI has had a massive BTR drop without losing form, stupid.

My second-stringers had a convincing CW Cup win over Oz Fan's XI yesterday:

Cymru Gurgitaters 330/4, Mohammed 126 (127), Creasy 81* (69), Cash 75 (69), Wills 3/63
Oz Fan's XI 54 A/O (18.4), Dodd 15 (27), Wilde 4/17 (5), Cash 2/9 (4), Bent 2/12 (5), Edworthy 2/20 (4.4)

And one pop this morning, is it worth me posting him on the CWXI thread? I know he wouldn't get in the first team, but might be a shout for the seconds?

Batting: *exceptional* Concentration: strong
Bowling: abysmal Consistency: feeble
Fielding: proficient

Keeping him on two batting nets until he hits Sens, then 1 Bat 1 Field for the foreseeable.

NOTE TO ANYONE WITH SPARE NETS, WHO'D LIKE TO MAKE SOME QUICK MONEY!

I've put two Resp bowlers up on the transfer market, both a bit long in the tooth, but both within a week or so's training of Prof. They're listed for £300 a piece, and could be sold in 42 days for around double that. I'd do it my self, and indeed will if they don't sell, but I'd like the cash as there's one or two players coming up at the end of the week, which I'm about half a Mill or so short on.

Strewth Trev, but those are some old players! I might grab them if the bidding doesn't go too high, or I can't see any real trainees that I fancy.

I've got two bowling nets going spare now that John's reached Sensational

Hmm…Would anybody be interested in giving me a bid of £3M on this guy?

Steven Carlton (809049

Batting: abysmal Concentration: mediocre

I've been looking around for a new bowler,, originally with a budget of £4/5M in mind, but I'm rapidly discovering that there's much more value in the £6.5/£8M range. So I'm toying with the idea of putting Carlton up to get the readies for a 20/22YO Rem or Wond with decent secondaries, who I can train up to Sens or Exqui, rather than a Qual/Rem with poor to average secondaries, who'll only ever make it to Except at best.

But here's the catch! I have my league decider on Friday, so I need a, Carlton to sell for at least £3M, and B, for there to be a bid ideally by Wednesday, so I can be sure of getting a replacement in by Friday's match. Otherwise I'm running the risk of going into it with a Comp RF and a Med RHS!

Thoughts? Trev

The value is in the £8m+ range and has been for ages and before that when it was the £7m+ range and the £6m+ range etc.

You'll get kinda decent wonderfuls up to about £7-8m then for not much more you can get exquisites guns with superb stamina sometimes awesome fielding and good secondaries.

I wouldn't train him tbh. You don't want anyone with worthless stamina or secondary, your minimum should ideally be at woeful or so.

At the time, these three players in total cost less than the one you bought.
I guess it shows you how the transfer market is getting. Feeling pretty lucky now itbt.

Good buys.
I taught it was good because most players around that level rarely go for under 50,000 since iv been on it anyway.

Well, they should do! The three players you quoted were considerably worse than the one Resp/Feeb that headhunter posted!

headhunter -- I don't know much about that end of the market, but that's not a bad price. HOWEVER, I wouldn't use him as a trainee -- it's just not worth training primary skills (batting/bowling/WK) on anyone over 20yo, unless you're talking skill high levels (Quality+).

Seriously, in the time it takes to take your 23yo to Proficient, you could buy in a 18yo mid-Competent and train him to Proficient instead...then, rather than a 24yo Prof, you'll have a 18yo Prof...who could be trained higher or sold for A LOT more.

Anyway, you'd be MUCH better off buying in a cheap 18yo Comp/Comp...preferably with Feeble+ stamina and some fielding, and training him. Even a Comp/Mediocre would be better.

Well depends on how many you've got free, the priority should be (most important first)

batting net, batting net/fitness net, fielding net

While his stamina is relatively low the fitness is as important as a second batting net, when he gets to like competent/respectable stamina the second batting net will be more important. The fielding net is a bit of a luxury.
