Think I've played right into Bugssy's hands by preparing an uneven pitch. Last time I played on one, my mediocre spinner took 6-19, so I put him and another spin bowler in my lineup, and between them they took no wickets and went at about 5 an over. Now Bugssy's quicks are running through my young and inexperienced batting lineup. One more wicket and he's getting into my tail.

Won my cup game easily enough, bowled a decent side out for 50odd on a dusty pitch (all of my bowlers who bowled picked up a couple) and chased it down for the loss of two wickets.

looking at an east TIE win today to advance to round 6 of the NZ cup.

we also won our league match by 9 wickets. so i feel our season is finally gaining some momentum after the opening two defeats. duggan has 5 100s so far, so things are looking good. still a long way to go before we can work our way to the top of the division.

17-6-2007: Zebras CG: Bacchanalians beat Zebras by 5 wickets
Zebras 99 (38.1)
Bacchanalians 100-5 (24.5)

C Singh Lali 3-25

TIE + weakened batting lineup + slow pitch = hammered. 150-ish would have giving us a decent chance, but their India national team spinner did for us with 4-18.

Seems my #3 in Div I opponents very kindly didn't try too hard to beat me today, through to the next round of the cup, where I get the #4 in Div I.

Decent win in the cup yesterday against a team top of a Div III on a PAN. Islam took 5 fer and Challinor and McEwan got half tons for a 7 wicket win.

I've got RDX in the league on Friday, aiming to bat first and get it over with. It's going to be a pounding if ever I saw one.

Got quite a tough draw next round as well which sucks, may end up going out again without having had a home game and got one of the better teams left in the draw. Ah well, I'm only using the cup for TFL and morale boosts.

i am happy to make it the bets of 3 buddy
Ok mate, best of three it is. Where do you want to play? We got a slightly bigger attendance at my place, but I'm happy to play at yours if you want?

Either way, congatulations on your win! Your bowlers were just too good for me today.

Cup match was more difficult than it should have been, but through to the next round all the same.

Bloody Americans 119/10 (42.5)
Watkins 5-16 (10), Harewood 3-23 (6.5), Mattis 2-26 (9)

Asterix XI 120/3 (30.2)
Cuss 52* (66), Osman 31 (70)

My two best bowlers went wicketless, and they reached 60-0 before Watkins came on and took five (set to very defensive).

Code:
[B]	Bloody Americans Asterix XI[/B]
Top Order: superb proficient
Middle Order: mediocre exceptional
Lower Order: feeble woeful
Seam Bowling: proficient exquisite
Spin Bowling: proficient exquisite
Fielding: mediocre feeble
MOTM: Watkins
Next cup opponent is slightly better, but could've been a lot worse. They won by 1 wicket, so I didn't have to face the third-lowest remaining seed (Philly_Bluenose), who are much better.

Blue Hoops CC
Top Order: quality
Middle Order: competent
Lower Order: abysmal
Seam Bowling: strong
Spin Bowling: superb
Fielding: competent

Should be able to TIE for another week at least.

One pop:

Doug Clayton - 21 yo, BT Rating=25,744
RH Batsman, RM Bowler, superb batting form, superb bowling form, sublime
A steady player with strong leadership skills and woeful experience.
Stamina: mediocre Wicket Keeping: superb
Batting: quality Concentration: respectable
Bowling: worthless Consistency: woeful
Fielding: woeful

4th quality plus player...

That will be the last lot of nets that Clayton will get till his about 23yo, then i'll put his keeping net and a batting net and get his secondaries up. Not sure what to do with his net, i've got 4 main players with feeble stamina so it might be time to fix that. The other option is to get Ellis ( 21yo quality/proficient) up to remarkable. But i guess i can do that later stamina needs work now.
