Where've you all gone?!

Sorry Trev -- I didn't get the chance to look at your match. I only just had the time to set my match orders for the weekend, to be honest.

Could anyone help me with my match orders? I want to TIE against the side I'm playing tomorrow - their ratings are:

riddings

Top Order: abysmal
Middle Order: woeful
Lower Order: worthless
Seam Bowling: woeful
Spin Bowling: abysmal
Fielding: woeful

My ratings on PAN are as follows:

The Heath CC

Top Order: feeble
Middle Order: woeful
Lower Order: abysmal
Seam Bowling: feeble
Spin Bowling: woeful
Fielding: woeful

Will I be able to get away with playing TIE against riddings and still win the game do you think? Or should I stick with PAN?

I reckon you'll be safe, barring random effects. TIE seems to give you about a half-level drop in each rating, and you'd still be ahead.

Make sure you check to see your opponent's team make-up -- for example, if he's got one good seamer and three rubbish ones (as opposed to four not-too-bad ones), there's a chance that that seamer might open and destroy your top order.

You had me worried for a second -- I'm playing spit_fire tomorrow, the bloke who does the Pimms Tent.

Haha, I don't think I'm quite in your league yet, so you don't have to worry about me for now!

Thanks for your advice - they do have one good seamer but my batting lineup goes pretty deep so I think I'll risk it. Worst case scenario - if I lose, then I won't TIE again and should manage to win every other game in my league this season.

A win today, by 8 wickets, but a little dissappointing, i let them score 181 runs. Savage was gun though, taking 6-fer 20 odd. Might have to set bowlers on aggresive next time around.

Slightly better game today, in some respects. Bowlers were greatly ineffective, conceding 330 runs for 1 wicket. We did manage to get past 200, though. Better than being bowled out for 23.

Good win for the Ponies today, bouncing back from last week

Kaos Warrios 205 (49.0)
Canning 3/31 (10), Fernando 3/62 (10), Erasmus 2/47 (9)

Magical Ponies 5/206 (45.1)
Tedstone 84* (101), Griffin 66 (96), Terry 30* (23)

Tedstone's highest score, while it was good to see Griffin in the runs when we needed them. Canning only made 9, but Terry made sure that we didn't collapse like they did (they lost 5/5 at the end).

Magical Ponies Kaos Warriors
Top Order: mediocre strong
Middle Order: strong competent
Lower Order: abysmal worthless
Seam Bowling: quality strong
Spin Bowling: proficient respectable
Fielding: woeful feeble
MOTM: Tedstone

Got smashed in my match. On a green pitch the opposition scored 344 runs and I scored just 65 in reply. At least I made a fair bit of money in gate receipts and should be able to buy a few decent players even if it will mean I'll stay in debt.

Pitch: Dusty

End of Over 15: 78-2, runrate=5.20
Moodley 1-0-3-0
Baines* 9 (9 balls)
Robertson 18 (19 balls)
Last Wicket: Sheepy c. Mclaren b. Wiese 27 (FOW: 64/2)

FFS lost my 2 best batsmen. Still have some batting to come and Baines and Robertson have had a decent season so far, but would have preferred if they had stayed in, not to worry though, ill rip through them with my bowling!!
