Coming 4th now but at least I've got my hardest match out of the way.

Going ok in my top-of-the-table clash against Camberwell Carrots, but the RR has dropped since the opening bowlers went off. Their strength is their two spinners, so I've gone for a flat pitch to hopefully negate their effect.

The Heath CC: 88-1 (17 overs)

Gardiner 43* (55 balls), Grant 34 (44 balls)

I'm bowling on a flat pitch

End of Over 18: 84-2, runrate=4.67
Preece 4-0-12-0
Hammond* 48 (52 balls)
Hamed 22 (39 balls)

Last Wicket: Howland c & b. Summers 1 (FOW: 28/2)

Hamed is only strong-superb batting (he's on the TL, sensational-exceptional bowl) and after that they've got complete crud. If Summers gets wickets in his second spell it should be all over.

Lost my match sadly....

De Soekwas 182-10
Sad Decadent XI 155-10

Damned remarkable spin ratings, they chose to bat first. Thought I had them good at 182-10, but they just chipped through my team like anything. Only R.Abdul Kadir with 84 the only sign of resistance.

Damn...I need to get some decent batsmen. Or atleast one more decent batsman to partner R.Abdul Kadir.

Last Wicket: Howland c & b. Summers 1 (FOW: 28/2)

You just don't seem to get semi-random wickets in Battrick when you want one to break through a lineup.

Opposition elected to bat on a green surface. Not looking like a good decision for them as were bowling well, keeping the runs down and Lias took 2 wickets in his last over.

Well, I thought I was in some serious trouble as my opponents cantered to 146/1 off 28 overs on a greentop...so I left to get some lunch, expecting yet another defeat.

I've returned to find that Brooker (9.2-0-49-6) and Gibb (9-1-27-3) have kicked some arse and bowled them out for 217, in the 49th over -- that's some SERIOUS brakes that got put on the run rate.

Unfortunately, I'm playing something of a bowling side...this could be close, but I reckon I'm going to be bowled out for 150.

Playing a newly promoted side:

End of Over 44: 123-10, runrate=2.80
Oldman 6-2-14-0
Oakley* 2 (26 balls)

Coincidentally, it's one of the teams that bought one of my 0 ITS might've-been youth pulls last year, and he's bowling today. I feel a bit guilty about that, actually; candy from babies and all that.

No, not really.

(he'll probably take a five-for now)

My bowling following the pattern of PY's game.

196-2 off 45 became 208ao off 47.4 - 4 wickets in a row in one of Pace's overs.

Wheat just got his first run in the league so far.

I'm now 40-3 with all my top 3 gone while I take 2 wickets in 45 overs. Bugger off Battrick.

Edit now 4 down. Complete nonsense.

Now 5 down after 12 overs on a flat wicket. Bollocks, just complete bollocks.

The Heath CC: 295-5 (50)
Camberwell Carrots: 20-2 (7)

Much better, my middle order managed to get us close to 300 and Swift took 2 wickets in 3 balls in his second over.

33/5 off 12 overs now, and it's all gone horribly wrong. Sandwith fails yet again.

This looks like my lowest ever total, and possibly a record defeat as well. I'll be adrift at the bottom of the table, with zero confidence and a decidedly negative NRR...this season could see my first ever HT/BT relegation :(

Really tight finish here. Camberwell Carrots need 41 runs off 24 balls with 4 wickets in hand. I have my two best bowlers on, but it's touch and go

Edit: 29 off 16 balls

Edit: 14 off 6 balls

Edit: 7 off 2...

Haha, epic win Spits.

Going alright myself at the moment, though my Gun opener (4 matches, 2 centures, 1 half century) just got out on 71 at about a run a ball and left my other opener who is playing horribly slow for some reason. I hope the number 3 can pick up the scoring rate and carry on where Jan left off otherwise the total is going to suffer I think.

edit: getting to be a bit daft now, he's been on 51 for 25 balls without attempting to attack, he's just gone completely defensive. I hope they get him out soon. Thankfully Dessie Gillespie is going mental at the other end...I think I'll give him his openers spot back.

edit: just as I post that he hits a 6. Still, 57 off 110 balls is pretty dire going.

edit again: Getting completely ridiculous now. 60 off 127 balls and he's blocking all the first few balls of the over and then taking a single on the last delivery, completely killing the run rate, especially seeing as Gillespie is on 33 off 22 balls at the moment.
