Hmm, details of the Twenty20 stuff is up, sounds good with it being a global comp. If gate receipts are the same as OD I could end up making a fair bit out of it, presumably there would have to be quite a few rounds.

BTW Mahindinho, accept my challenge.
I still doubt we will play any Twenty20 this season, will be nice for my finances though if it does get going.

Yea, going to be very irritating if you get a good team early tho. Not sure how suited my side will be what with having no destructive batsmen but some decent depth (I would hope there are more random-ish wickets).

He jus sold for £162,493, a nice little profit of 100k. In other news purchased a Canning wannabe 2day for £2,750,000. He'll be a gun in a few seasons.

Douglas Bwalya - 17 yo, BT Rating=16,863
RH Batsman, RF Bowler, superb batting form, proficient bowling form, drained
A cautious player with competent leadership skills and worthless experience.
Stamina: woeful Wicket Keeping: woeful
Batting: proficient Concentration: woeful
Bowling: proficient Consistency: strong
Fielding: woeful

He'd been receiving 3 bat, 3 bowl, 1 field, 1 keep & 2 fitness nets, but gonna put him on 1 bat n 1 bowl till a few more nets open up in a couple of weeks. Not expecting him to play till prob sometime during next season, once iv got a stamina net on him n its up to med/comp.

Done.

Two big matches for me this weekend -- first up, a game I thought might be the series decider tomorrow. It's not any more, unfortunately, as I've fallen too far off the pace.

And then, of course, there's your scurvy crew. I'll be insisting on blood tests for "magic potion" after the game.

I'm cynical of games where Withington managing to bat 20 overs is a good thing...

(I'd have picked on Jamee but it seemed a bit of a stretch his lot batting 20 overs)

Back after Easter, sitting pretty on top of IV.11, as the balance of power shifted dramatically last Friday. The Gurs enjoyed a crushing 302 run TIE victory over Team LightningCC, while Who's Your Daddy lost their nerve against fifth placed Veets.

Cymru Gurgitaters 353/3. Staveley 155 (141) Greening 138 (128) (PB), Noon 41* (27), Patel 7* (4), McKay 3/64.
Team LightningCC 51 A/O (15.1) Mofokeng 19 (23), Tsimba 11* (14), Bewers 5/15 (5), Wilde 4/17 (7) (PB), Bridges M 1/9 (2.1)

TIE Ratings of Sup/Comp/Abs - Prof/Prof/Feeb.

So, With Who's Your Daddy going down by one hundred or so runs in the big match, I'm now top on 36 PTS, NRR 19.08, level on points with Who's Your Daddy, NRR 11.64 and eight points clear of the pack. Have a semi-tricky match against Victoria Drivers tomorrow, but a shoe-in on the final day. I say tomorrow is semi tricky, as I could win it easily on PAN, but unless I can get my fitness back up to Lively or there-abouts, I'm toast in the playoff in any case, so I'm TIEing, and probably sailing a tad close to the wind. Victoria Drivers are one of those trading sides who it's difficult to second-guess, as they never have the same line-up two matches in a row. They buy anything from High Med to High Strong, train them up a level, then flog them on for profit a month or so later. But despite the turnover in personnel, their ratings remain stubbornly around the level of Resp/Comp/Wor - Resp/Comp/Feeb - So as I say, I should be okay on TIE, but I reckon I might have a few brown trousers moments along the way.

Still remain on course in the Blind Cricket Challenge, after a thrilling 1 run win last Sunday, which really showed up the failings of the match engine. Off the last ball Dagenhamshire needed two to tie, three to win…so they settled for the single, without even attempting the second!

Only one useless Cons pop for Noon, but he did become my second player over 30K BTR, and appears to be closing in on Greening! Strange as they're both on two nets,? Though I imagine it's because Noon's Bat and WK Nets (as opposed to two Bat for Greening), give him two bites of the secondaries cherry.

If I'm reading the Twenty20 announcement right, does it mean that the group matches are on the Saturday, Sunday and Monday following the playoffs? This has two potential problems for me, as, A, I'll hopefully be GFIing a playoff the day before, so my TFL will be dog dirt, and B, my friendly league has fixtures scheduled for the Sunday!

Later, Trev

You'll be lucky to get a level of extra team fitness by TIE-ing now instead of PAN-ing when it comes to the play-off.
