Took a fair battering today to top of the league, despite looking good at 186-2 in the run chase. As usual, it all caves in once **** departs.

His name, I believe, is a four-letter ethnic slur against people from Pakistan, and is therefore zapped by the swear filter. Daft, really, but there you go. When I worked at the BBC on their messageboards we used to have "yid" in the swear filter, which meant that roughly half the posts on the Jewish boards got deleted for no reason (Jewish people unsurprisingly make frequent reference to "yiddish").

On the other hand, the meeting where we got to update the swear filter was outstanding. Trying to delicately explain "bukkake" to a team of politely incomprehending middle-aged media managers was one of the funniest moments of my life.

(If you don't know what it is, for God's sake don't google it...)

Brilliant.

I've nothing really against the swear filter here anymore really - it went OTT a while ago but they unfiltered a number of words.

Ok, I put Allen up on the transfer market for a joke price of 15m. However, I've gotten offers of 7.5m and 9m for him. What do you guys think, if i sold him i'd obviously like to replace him with one batsmen and bowler which would mean their fitness levels would be higher, benefiting my side more

Charlie Allen - 20 yo, BT Rating=71,992 [transfer listed]
RH Batsman, RFM Bowler, superb batting form, superb bowling form, moderate
A destructive player with strong leadership skills and woeful experience.
Stamina: superb Wicket Keeping: competent
Batting: exceptional Concentration: superb
Bowling: wonderful Consistency: respectable
Fielding: competent

Personally I'd sell him for than 9m in a shot. I wouldn't try and split that money into two players tho unless you're going to train them both, you'll get two fairly meh players really (well-rounded quality or a remarkable) when you could get much more value out of one truly uber player at 7-8m. I'd then try and save up for another uber player but one who compliments the other.

To Hing, is there any reason why you'd want to sell Allen? Why split up one awesome allrounder into a solid batsman and a solid bowler?

Don't Hing allrounders are one of the most important parts of battrick as it gives you the ability to have a longer batting line up as you promote it is essential to have one as to which you can build your team around.

Haha nibbs, that's brutal.

Had a pretty solid when yesterday. Batted first on a flat pitch, cruised to 228/1 in 35 overs then collapsed to 270 all out (Ashton 116 off 130, Watkins 90 off 82). Didn't matter much though, bowled them out for 160 in 35 overs with Whitehorne taking 6-11. Baird managed 3 wickets, and Crawford got rid of their best batsman cheaply. Whitehorne has 37 wickets at 5.16 so far this season, can't buy a run though.

Tough cup game on Sunday against a team with wonderful/prof batting and superb/superb bowling, especially as they say they're going to GFI (and I think they actually will). I'll PAN I guess.

Cool! That's a nice little touch.

Right. I've got to head off to some place called Oxton for a hockey match. I bet it's full of Scousers. This is going to hurt.

Just upgraded my academy 3 times to get to superb. Using max ITS to get a YP. Let's see how it goes.

Edit: Guh, not the best YP pull ever. How much do you reckon he'll fetch?
