They should get to it eventually, I'll keep mentioning it if it's not resolved in a day or two. The good news is that as a result of me asking them about this they've realised that the email hasn't been working for a couple of weeks and they've posted a news item to this effect. :p

Will let you know in a couple of days if I get any emails. Nothing so far...

After all my effort, I got tonked by almost 200 runs on Sunday, and sent crashing out of the cup.

I've learnt a bit about pitch types, too...

Friday
Pitch type on H&F (I suspect it was almost Green).
I instruct my groundsman to change it to Slow, in the hope that it reaches Green by Sunday.

Saturday
I meant to check my pitch, and maybe change the instructions to Green. But I didn't get online all day, so didn't.

Sunday
Match gets played on a Slow pitch. Slow! That's four changes in two days!
Enraged, ask groundsman to change it back to Green.
Check later in the day, to find the pitch has gone to Dusty already.

And there I was, thinking it took 1.5-2 days per step. Bugger.

I'm not blaming that for my defeat...well, not entirely. It's more the form of my two remarkable batsmen, who haven't made a decent score between them for several matches now :(

Well, following Mr Piscine's advice, I went and and splashed my (very small amount of) cash, and came up with the following trainees. £4,000 each for:

2. Colin Janes - 17 yo, BT Rating=4,552
RH Batsman, RH Spin Bowler, strong batting form, proficient bowling form, energetic
A cautious player with proficient leadership skills and worthless experience.
Stamina: competent Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: competent Concentration: mediocre
Bowling: worthless Consistency: worthless
Fielding: worthless

(his batting's just popped after I think two weeks of 2*batting, 1*fitness)

Sam Pead - 17 yo, BT Rating=2,851
RH Batsman, RFM Bowler, competent batting form, proficient bowling form, energetic
A defensive player with abysmal leadership skills and worthless experience.
Stamina: mediocre Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: worthless Concentration: worthless
Bowling: mediocre Consistency: mediocre
Fielding: worthless

£8,000 for (hurrah, a trainee wk/bat):

4. Liam Bromby - 17 yo, BT Rating=4,006
RH Batsman, RM Bowler, competent batting form, respectable bowling form, energetic
A cautious player with woeful leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Stamina: mediocre Wicket Keeping: mediocre
Batting: mediocre Concentration: mediocre
Bowling: abysmal Consistency: worthless
Fielding: worthless

And finally I think I rather overspent at £29,000 for:

8. Carl Oleary - 17 yo, BT Rating=4,111
RH Batsman, RM Bowler, woeful batting form, mediocre bowling form, energetic
An attacking player with respectable leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Stamina: respectable Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: woeful Concentration: abysmal
Bowling: mediocre Consistency: mediocre
Fielding: abysmal

But there seems to be an absolute dearth of 17yo bowlers at the minute, so sod it. The nippers helped me to my first win yesterday, albeit in a friendly against what I suspect was a bot. Janes made a fifty on OD debut, too. Next stop: not the relegation zone!

Interesting... got an experience pop from someone who hasn't played in ages. Also Dillon popped after 11 weeks in batting (he's 20). Most of those weeks have been this year, tho some will be last season or the season before - can't remember if any were when that training bug hit which made people pop ridiculously fast. Anyway means I have 4 strong bats now (all with strong or better concentration) plus Nile who's superb-feeble. Obrien should pop to strong in ~6 weeks - his stamina popped to mediocre and was the only other pop.

Bit annoyed at not getting a 19yo high strong-feeble this morning, he was being sold at 4:33 or something tho. As expected someone just overbid me by the minimum and got him for 918k... grrrrrrrrrr.

Cool, you should see pops from Pead and Bromby pretty quickly as well. Bromby has a wage of 515, range for those stats is 370-610 so it's pretty high up the sublevels as Janes was. Pead's wage is 401, his range is 320-460 so it's pretty high again. Oleary is hard to tell.

How many nets gave you given him over the years? And what did he start as?
I trained him heavily last season as i didn't really need him. He started at proficient bat and Resp bowling with very low secondaries. Bought him for 700k.

He's quite a gun, didn't seem too effective in the friendly though, for some strange reason.

EDIT: Ah, fitness.

Now with a slightly more favourable twist -

Stamina: 63 (Avg: 5.7)

Bat (Top 7): 60 (Avg: 8.6)
Conc (Top 7): 47 (Avg: 6.7)

Bowl (Main 5): 41 (Avg: 8.2)
Cons (Main 5): 32 (Avg: 6.4)

Fielding: 43 (Avg: 3.9)

Fielding includes your w/ks fielding and wk rating. Stamina & fielding count your whole XI, the others are self-explanatory. Solid indeed IMO. Batting would be even better if I just did top 5.
Stamina: 59 (Avg: 5.4)

Bat (Top 7): 60 (Avg: 8.6)
Conc (Top 7): 61 (Avg: 8.7)

Bowl (Main 5): 45 (Avg: 9.0)
Cons (Main 5): 39 (Avg: 7.8)

Fielding: 68 (Avg: 6.2)

Stuff varies slightly on who I pick, I don't have a definite first 11 regardless of pitch or opposition.

Got the pop I've been expecting for a few weeks:

Fitz Watkins - 21 yo, BT Rating=121,103
RH Batsman, RFM Bowler, superb batting form, superb bowling form, invigorated
A defensive player with woeful leadership skills and feeble experience.
Stamina: strong Wicket Keeping: abysmal
Batting: exceptional Concentration: sensational
Bowling: quality Consistency: exceptional
Fielding: strong

Harewood's still not popped in stamina, must've been at the bottom of the level when I got him.
