Will teams make these trades?
2000s SA exchange Kallis for McGrath? - no, Kallis' batting was more important for them. They already had Pollock who was of similar quality
40s Invincibles exchange Miller for Sobers? - yes, simply better player.
2000s SL exchange Murali for Imran? - yes, what SL lacked was pace fire power. We saw how SL was effective on foreign soil in couple of years Malinga was cranking it up. Imran, Vaas and Malinga would give a lot of sides sleepless nights. Having a bowler of Imran's quality will allow us to win abroad more, and Vaas to do the thing he does best. Bowl marathon spells, drying up runs. Imran would allowed us to play five bowlers. Three seamers and two spinners at home and 4 + 1 aboard. We had Herath and Dilruwan Perera bowling well in 2000s, and it's the brilliance of Murali that shut the door on them. Those two has shown they can win matches on their own on turning tracks. So we may win little less at home, but lot more on tour.
80s India exchange Kapil for Jadeja? - no. Kapil was their best pace bowler and they had no replacements
80s Aus exchange Border for Wasim? - no. Aus had pretty good seamers, although not the same quality as Wasim. The whole battery and the replacements, everything was pretty good. Wasim only adds a little. Border on other hand is an iconic player for them, more than the batting.
70s Aus exchange Thommo for Brett Lee? - no.
