To go back to an earlier discussion, was Australia just as bad for touring finger spinners before drop-in pitches?
Other than the MCG most of the "drop-ins" have only come in through the last few years....so yeah. I think the only spinners to have much success here in living memory were wrist-spinners.

Plus it's also worth remembering that most of our great spinners were wrist-spinners.

Yup, exactly my point. Hardly any wrist spinners with success in Test cricket recently. Finger spinners actually proving more effective.
It’s also about 400 times harder to bowl than finger spin, which literally anyone with a functioning hand and arm can bowl.
