Whatever it takes!!!
I don't think it is fair to say Swann did not deserve his DRS wickets. The only point is that there are many other spinners from earlier eras who did not have that as a wicket taking option and hence we had to endure players like "Paddams".

Yeah, at the end of the day, DRS is just another factor that can complicate comparing between eras, although it's probably more specific to spinners than the other, more general, differences between eras.

More generally it means you can knock 3 runs off decent touring bowler's average in Pakistan. #shakoorrana

I look fondly back at Swann purely for being one of the only non-chucking finger spinners of his time
To be honest we must allow chucking and ball tampering. Cricket is the most classist game I know where batsmen enjoy all privileges.

Edit: My opinions on match fixing won't change, it's always wrong by default.

Interesting that there are so many Sri Lankan batsmen with epic 50-70 averages at home if they were constantly playing on dust bowls.
firstly, are there? How many during the 2010's?

secondly, I didn't say they were constantly playing on dustbowls. You're arguing a strawman

tbf it’s not exactly a shock that most cricketers excel at their chosen discipline on home soil given those are the conditions they’ve grown up in, that’s hardly a controversial assertion

same reason is applicable to why nathan lyon’s style of bowling off spin trumps murali’s in australia eleven times out of ten but murali’s trumps lyon’s in the subcontinent eleven times from ten tbh
This is absolutely true as well. You could say the same about a lot of places, not just Sri Lanka. How do Starc, Hazlewood etc. average below 30 with the ball in Australia when half the Aus batsmen (even some pretty ordinary ones) average 50-60+ at home?

And hence my theory that your odd number batters should be good at stonewalling while you put your stroke makers in the even number positions, in the top 6. :)

To go back to an earlier discussion, was Australia just as bad for touring finger spinners before drop-in pitches?

Sobers has an insane 26 hundreds in 93 tests primarily batting in the AR spot. Ridiculous.
