Zaremba has been in over patriotic mode recently, which is strange and odd from him!
Rule Britannia!

... or something. I have to say, I've pushed back a bit against one or two of the Indian fans here who have been doing their best recently to put the "lame" into "flame". There's an unattractive arrogance among some, which we've seen from some Aussies in the past, although the Indian case is different in that that attitude doesn't particularly seem to be displayed by the team itself.

Anyway yes it was s slightly unnecessary comment about Indian Test crowds but it was meant in jest.

The Indian squad have 55608 runs between them.

England 29795.

Anderson will face a much stronger batting line up.

Looking forward to Anderson v Tendulkar
33.2 overs 96 runs 5 wickets (19.2 econ 2.88 s/r 40.0)

but not Anderson v Sehwag
4.3 overs 32 runs 2 wickets (16.00 econ 7.11 s/r 13.5)

Haha, batting lineup strengths aren't directly proportionate to aggregate runs. Otherwise Australia would probably have been all over England in the recent Ashes.

I bet Jimmy won't mind those returns, if he manages to send Sehwag back to the pavilion twice in just over 4 overs.

International Coach
think both Anderson and Zak will play only three games ..zak will be rested for the 4th test with us already 2-0 up and anderson will be dropped for having an avg > 100

While I accept the India currently have the best top 7, it's not as though England haven 't held their own since the side started to take shape two years ago. Only Strauss has been notably out of runs, and while KP hasn't been his best he'd still make almost any international side. Then there's Cook, Trott and Bell who have piled up as many as anyone could have wanted from them.

Looking at it statistically, England's batsmen have actually averaged slightly more than India since 2009/10, and the difference becomes even bigger when you take it from the start of the the 2010 season. That's despite England playing an entertainly low-scoring series against Asif & Amir at their best in 2010.

At any rate, I look forward to those Indian posters who claim the statistical difference between England and India's bowlers only comes from pitches, to be using the same logic and so taking this as evidence of the English batting's massive superiority. Or maybe not.

Yep and I'll miss the whole series because I'll be busy having rampant *** with Scarlett Johansson
