Lol, no. If you want to get Taylor out in tests these days, aiming at his pads or enticing him to drive just outside off is the way to go.
Haha, really narrowing it down, that. Bowl on the stumps, or outside off.

So in other words, don't bowl way down leg. Thanks for the tip!

And yet i remember him somewhat struggling against Anil Kumble overall.

And in one series getting owned by Venkatpathy raju of all people.
That was vaguely disturbing TBH, even as an Indian fan.

CAn remember tha series. 93/94 IIRC. That's the series great Jimmy (P)Adams did a "Lara" and scored heavily.

Yep, that's the one. Walsh and Benjamin destroyed India on a bouncy Mohali wicket to square the series.

I would point out that just because someone isn't the best doesn't mean they're not good, or very good.
Exactly...I reckon Kallis isn't rated as highly as say,KP against spin because he isn't as adventurous or attacking. It certainly doesn't mean that he sucks against spin.

Well I meant under-rated and not too bad in the context of this thread.

I should have come out and said that Kallis is the best against spin IMO. I hope this makes you guys happy.

Haha, you know what I was trying to say.:p

Taylor can do the old lazy cover drive early on. Certainly much more likely than the slog sweep these days.

Whatever it takes!!!
If Warne is the best spinner I have seen alot of, KP was one of the few, probably almost the only one who was not the slightest bit intimidated by Warne (some of the sub-continent guys aside).

I know I'm adapting the scope, criteria, facts etc to suit my opinion, but that's the nature of these things isn't it.
lol.. really unfair on Lara, that. :) And I would add Andy Flower and Murray Goodwin.

getting owned is not averaging 30 for the series.
But getting him out 4 times out of 6 innings in one series is pretty good.

Besides most of his runs were scored not against him and event then a average of 30 is mediocre by lara's standards on not the most vicious of wickets too.

yeah.. that is not really strange though. I always rated him as an ODI bowler... It is a bit like Giles Vs Sachin, Lara too..
Giles got Tendulkar out only once in 5 matches with Sachin averaging 90 in those matches.

The only thing Giles stopped in doing was stopping the flow of runs.

That is what I mean by struggling. Not able to get him away.. I just think a lot of times certain type of bowlers really tie down great players.. This was one of those.
