Why do you value that so highly? Embuldeniya is a properly threatening bowler, usually with some lvel of consistency in line and length. Ramesh has big turn but not much else. Ramesh hasnt reallly performed as an all rounder either though he is skilled enough. Not attacking, just wondering if you had a different opinion.Went with Ramesh as he was an all-rounder.
A couple reasons really:Why do you value that so highly? Embuldeniya is a properly threatening bowler, usually with some lvel of consistency in line and length. Ramesh has big turn but not much else. Tbf, Ramesh has only played 2 matches away whereas embula played 10 away. I feel like Embuldeniya played harder opposition as well in general. But I can understand that even if Embula is better, its still contentious and he does not have much of a clear cut case over rameshA couple reasons really:
1) While Embuldeniya have that 5 fer in SA in that win, his output overall is not really great, especially his average. Even for a spinner, 37 is a tad too high. Ramesh, on the otherhand, averages 6 runs less. It's also not like Embuldeniya played for a long time to have the longevity argument here.
2) Hence, taking them as overall close bowlers, Ramesh has a FC batting average of close to 40. Though he haven't been able to deliver that on Tests, that's a pretty significant batting boost to me, enough to overcome their bowling difference for me.
Yeah, that's why as purely bowlers I will take Embuldeniya as well, but Ramesh's batting boost is quite big there imo.Tbf, Ramesh has only played 2 matches away whereas embula played 10 away.
