190 sixes from 189 innings... wow... that's more then one a match. Compared to Jayasuriya's 188 off 325 innings. Now if he grew a brain, you could expect him to improve his average to like thirty and become a decent batsmen.

Flintoff is also average over a six an innings... with 73 sixes off 71 innings... a much better batsmen right now.

I doubt anyone can do it... especially off 189 innings. But yeah, you make a point. He tries to hit a six every ball and throws his wicket away. If only he had a brain!

He's 23, should he play (consistently) for another 10 years, that would make him play about a total of 500-600 games (which will easily be a record), and we say hes slows down a bit with age, how about a total of 400-450 career sixes, which is unlikely to ever be eclipsed, unless one these these ******** Twenty20 specialists start taking over the ODI game, but thats another debate.

He supposedly made his debut at 16, and looked 20 then. Boycott mentioned something along the lines of ," If hes 16, then I'm 80".

It's also amazing that a 16 year old could hit the ball so hard..I've never seen a 16 hit the ball like he did..

In that list, you cannot tell who's better equipped to hit sixes, where they were hit, and against whom. Ganguly hits lots of sixes in places like Sharjah, Jamshedpur or taunton, but is now struggling to hit the ball. All those who hit sixes in small grounds may fnid it harder when the grounds are bigger- Ajit Agarkar once hit four sixes in an innings in a small ground, but the same batsman struggles on bigger grounds and spoons the ball straight up to catch. Shiv Sunder Das hit a six on one ground in New Zealand, on the shortest boundary, but we all know he's no hitter.

The best six-hitter should be able to hit sixes in places like Dambulla, Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Jo'Burg, Eden Gardens and other big grounds, against quality bowlers and with clean shots and not artificial ones.

What i find awesome is Sehwag's six-hitting in test cricket.

For someone who averages over 50, he is the only one i think who has sixes at almost 1 six/test.

afridi has hit HUUUGE sixes in perth, and he's hit plenty of sixes in melbourne as well....

For me the type of sixes you hit counts. Thts why i will always think of big hitters as poeple like Cairns, Hayden, Freddie and maybe even Pieterson. Who seem to play the same shots as every else, but the ball just goes further. Im anti-slogging

No but when Afridi swings he isnt trying to clear the boundary.. he is trying to clear the stand and the road outside it! Thats why his sixes look better than most because he tries to hit the ball for a 12.

Flintoff can block the ball for a six, theres not even a follow through in some of the shots he plays.
