Brisbane are done. Sad to say it because I've loved them and their era of dominance was awesome. They were still my tip for the flag last year. They didn't even make the 8 and will probably struggle to this year.

Black had a shocker, and the image of Schwarze making Voss his female dog was tough to see.

They kept saying Black was in bad form. I thought he was very good last week against Essendon. Found heaps of the ball and used it well.

He was probably best on ground against Essendon, so that bad form stuff was crap. He just had an absolute shocker against St Kilda and is struggling to find consistency in his game because he didn't have a great year last year, with injuries and stuff.

And this whole idea of playing Aker up forward is pretty stupid. I know Leigh Matthews is trying to send a message to him to stop being an idiot, but you don't do it at the sacrifice of your team.

From the premium fab 4 'beatle' Brisbane midfielders of 2001-2004, Lappin is injured, Voss is long past it and Black still needs to get some consistency in his game. The forgotten Beatle, Power is still there and is still a champion but you need Aker in the midfield if Brisbane want to take it up to St Kilda (Dal Santo, Hayes, Ball), Adelaide (Burton, Goodwin, Ricciuto, Thompson, McLeod (when he's in the middle)), Geelong (Ling, Corey, Enright, Ablett) and obviously West Coast (Judd, Kerr, Cousins, Embley, Braun, Nicoski, yadda yadda yadda). Right now their midfield just doesn't seem up to it when they take on the best teams.

Particularly since Aker last year, until the end when he was injured and not 100% fit, almost had as good a year as he did in 2001 when he won the Brownlow.

Brisbane just arent intimidating, simple as that.

Long gone are the 'If it bleeds we can kill it' days.

Their dominance ended when Lynch pulled the plug. No shame in losing to Saints though, they'll win the flag.

Hodge... what a star!

That was amazing from Hawthorn. They conceivably could have been 3-0 up at this time with Carlton next week.

Just saw the swans finally win a game this season..
Carlton looked very dangerous in the 3rd quarter, but swans were good enough to stop the charge.. go da swannies..

The Eagles just have too many midfielders. Its beyond annoying.

The Tigers were in the game until half-way through the 3rd quarter. Its amazing when a team can bench Judd and bring Fletcher on, then bring back Judd and bench Cousins, and then bring back Cousins and bench Kerr, and then bring back Kerr and bench Jones, and then bring back Jones and bench Braun, and then bring back Braun and bench Embley, and then bring back Embley and bench Nicoski and then bring back Nicoski and bench Stenglein.

Its unbelievable. It doesn't help that when you're playing one of the best teams in the league in their home ground when they never lose, and for once you're winning you decide to hand the ball over whenever you get the chance. So many clangers, so ugly.

Quinten Lynch played possibly the greatest game of his life. Biglands honestly can't compete with that man. Lynch = legend of the game.

Cox is unstoppable.

Sampi is more annoying than Phil Matera, and I never thought that to be possible.

I think its interesting that a team with no forward line can kick such a big score.

Consolation.. Joel Bowden = the most gorgeous man in AFL, Jono.

Yeah, its the main reason I didn't want the Eagles to win the flag last year. I grew up watching footy in the era of Ablett, Lockett, Dunstall, Modra, Kernahan etc.

To see a team with no key forward win the flag was something I felt would be just plain wrong.

Though WC do have a forward line when they want to. Hunter is such an awesome player, one of the most underrated in the league, and he can play as a key forward whenever he feels like it, even though he's a great backman. And Cox down there is very intimidating because he's tall, fast, a good mark and is good when the ball hits the ground. Plus he's an accurate kick.

Agreed on Hunter, hes brilliant. Two years ago, I coudnt work out why they played him, he was so... girly. Now hes a tank, and can mark anything.

Hunter is a very good player, way better then I thought he was 2 or 3 years back, but he aint a full forward. They keep persisting with Lynch in the hope he will become the Fraser Gehrig of their lineup, but really, it's never going to work. I think Staker is the only one who will work out long time, but he's taken wayyyy too long to come on. Hansen at CHF and Staker at FF in 2 years times looks good, but with what they have now, I see them falling short again.
