Has Heath Shaw been stood down for this weekend? Will have to use one of my few remaining trades if he has.
Press conference at 3pm. You'd have to expect it, they've already fined him the most they said they could and if they weren't going to increase the punishment there'd be no point in the press conference.

Watching the press conference, Pert was pretty scathing, especially against Didak, impressive damage control.

. Perfect rounds to Brumby, Jono, MorgieB, and Voltman
. Huge jump for Voltman, moving from 13th to 6th on the back of six bonus points
. DCYE becomes the first to the century for 2008, but Brumby closes the gap to 2 points, with four rounds to go
. A big drop for HDS, down to 15th place
. Jono's perfect round sees him rise to outright fourth place, however still in arrears to the top three

Jeez I'm pissed at this crap with Shaw and Didak. I love Didak as a player on the field - probably in my top 3 players I enjoy watching, and was even prepared to cut him the very slight benefit of the doubt with the hole crap with the murderer guy last year, but its unbelievable that within 3 weeks of having the no-booze clause lifted, he's up to this crap.

And Heath Shaw is just as bad in my book. The media is fastening onto the "they lied to the club" and the club is couching it in terms of "it goes against our culture for them to lie to us" bull****. The real issue here is that they were bloody lucky not to kill or maim either themselves or worse, someone else. We're very lucky Shaw hit another car rather than a person, and that the headlines aren't about "Magpie charged with culpable driving, manslaughter".

I'm glad the club has at least booted them from the team for the rest of the year, and I hope there is some more to come re: Didak. To my knowledge this is Heath's first serious blue, so he should get this suspension, and a warning that that was his one chance to mess up with the club and that next time he's gone. Didak should be moved on - I don't see that the club should totally lose out, but he can't stay there IMO, so they should announce in the coming week that he will be traded for whatever the best offer people are willing to make for him. And I'm saying that knowing that it will kill me to see him in another teams jersey if I'm only thinking about him on-field.

The Pies need to pull their head out of their bum on this stuff. We've had a string of potentially very serious incidents - we're lucky no-one has been directly harmed, and who knows what could have been avoided if Didak hadn't been a weasel about the Hudson episode from the get-go. Wellingham's effort cost us a major sponsor. They need to layeth the smack down on whoever is preventing us from dealing with this - and I don't know whether it starts from the top with Eddie - and get some results. I remember how devestated everyone around the club was when Darren Millane killed himself with booze, and it seems 15 years later that no-one's learnt anything.

You won't beat us...

Adelaide have NEVER beaten us in Melbourne.
Yeah I know, doesn't mean it can't happen though. I wouldn't be surprised if Adelaide lost any of the four remaining games, they're all pretty tricky, but I'd tip us to win all of them except against the Dogs.
