Rutten playing the worst game I've ever seen him play today. Has given away a few soft frees, and probs would've been pinged again if Cloke hadn't taken a mark behind Rutten & Fev.

Not the most disappointing loss ever, I thought we played quite well but the conditions just didn't suit in the end. If we would have made the most of our chances we might have won but at least we competed and competed well. Good old fashioned game of football though.

Man, Porplyzia's injury today looked pretty ugly. Actually thought for a second it might have been really serious. He's fine though, apparently.

Adelaide played some scrappy football but it wasn't a bad win in the end, given the injuries and the significance of the game. Shirley is the most underrated player in the team these days, and dominated Judd until the last quarter, and Van Berlo had a huge game.

No doubt apart from Rischitelli & Proud, they were poor. Doesn't make me any less wild at Trav though, or the umpires, or our chokingness in general lately.

Yeah, had shades of Shiv there. Looked pretty scary.

Great win tonight...even with our sh**house defense giving up uncontested marks inside the forward 50 at will. Wells picked it up when needed. Loving Hansen at the end. Even Power got involved at the end. Should ensure a top 8 finish. Still in the hunt for top 4 really, especially if we surprise the bulldogs next week, Sydney have a hard run in.

Good to see the Englishman have a good game for Adelaide, we shouldn't have let him go.

The Umpires in the Essendon-Demons game have been absolutely ****ing woeful. Bruce was tackled around the legs inside forward 50, unpaid, Bate was thrown out of the contest without even touching the ball, unpaid, Peverill has had 3 of the softest ever holding frees in the 4th, Fletcher spent about 15 minutes of the 3rd quarter with his hands on Sylvia's shoulders. Buckley's been pinged twice, the first time he was belted across the chops before being whistled and the second time he was tackled as he received. So angry atm.

Lloyd's mark though, what a cracker.
Only watched the first half but it was atrocious. But i really don't think the umpiring was good for either team. We were on the end of some shocking calls as well.

6 out of our last 7 now, some good form and hopefully we can still push for a finals spot.

****....absolutely ****. If we had won all our games in the past 5, which really, we should have, we'd be top 4 now. I honestly hope Johnstone was torn a new one by Matthews for that.
The loss was not entirely his fault, but FFS.

Don't expect us to make the finals, and honestly, would rather we didn't , don't deserve it after the way we've played the last 5 weeks.

Can't remember, first ever game? Should be a good one.
Nah, my fourth IIRC.

Anyway are North Melbourne fans traditionally bogan? They seemed to be last night anyway. Good game, I thought Brisbane would have it in the final quarter, considering a lot of the points in the game came from that end, but no they didn't get it in the end.

BARNES OUT
Brownshaw kicked 10 goals between them, and Brisbane still lose.
Their defence leaks way too many goals. The Roos were awful going forward from what I saw but they still managed to kick the winning score. With Black out of form their midfield looks rudderless as well, players like Power, Adcock and Trav need to stand up.

Honestly think we need to put Adcock back in defense. He's certainly not having the best of years in the midfield, and has played his best footy running from the back pocket/HB flank. No question that our midfield and ruck is the main problem though, turn the ball over far to easily. That said, were some good somes from Rischitelli & Proud, who were awesome last night imo.

Indeed, missing the goals that the likes of Hooper, Corrie, Power & Sherman can usually provide so much.

I'd like to see someone else thrown forward, that way we don't have to rely so much on Brownshaw (great name btw, who came up with it?). I'd put brennan up there for mine. He's not big enough to be a key forward, but as a supporting forward, I think he'd do well. He's already proved he can kick goals.
