Have tickets for the GF but don’t think I will go

Been to a few and it’s better on tv plus the Swans will probably be down 50 after the first quarter and it’s easier to turn the box off

Good to see another competitive performance in a Grand Final...

Maybe next time we need to bring some forwards who actually want to compete in a contest to the game.

Armaty is genuinely the biggest non event in the league. Had two good games all year. Not worth a squirt of piss.

Chad Warner doing that thing where he goes missing for 3/4 then has a stack of touches in the last when the game is done so his numbers look ok. Terrible performance after 1/4 time. Rate this worse than the Geelong loss in 2022

Yeah 2022 was mostly just a bunch of kids who got steamrollered by some ATG midfielders who were dog hungry.

This was pitiful, especially in the forward half. So many forwards not wanting to put their bodies on the line and bring the ball to ground, and then not bothering to run back to help the defenders out.

Yeah I thought they were no more than a top 8 side in 2022 and over achieved tbh. Zero excuses this year. Just Wallaby-level soft when things got tough

Redbacks

International Captain
Listening to the analysts during the week they thought the X factor that the lions had was that in the comebacks they had changed from their usual game plan which was one of control and marking, to run a gun through the centre corridor. High risk, because a turnover can lead to easy across the other way, but they had to do it when behind by 5 goals in the first two finals.

Early in the 2nd quarter it looked to me that they were doing the same. The Swans were under so much pressure that when the ball came back out of defence, it was rushed and was easily mopped up by the lions who could the. easily pick off targets in attack.

So I think it’s a sign of the talent of Brisbane that they have versatility to win with multiple strategies. 1 main plan relying on discipline and positioning, another on skill execution under pressure.

TL;DR, the lions reminiscent of the French mens football team matched technique with strategy, that’s why the anthem was playing at the end of the game.

Also the Swans were ****
