Eh, always controversial when you make a list of best mids but going on form over 2-3 years (which is what you need to do, not talk up Dale Thomas or Josh Kennedy as the best like the media do after 5 good weeks) then I'd have a top 7 (in no order) of:

Pendlebury
Ablett
Swan
Judd
Joel Selwood
Jobe Watson
Sam Mitchell.

Obviously this is tough on certain players like Murphy, Boyd, Hayes, dal Santo etc.

Point is Watson is that good.

Burgey's point is more about players like Hurley, Dustin Martin, (even though I'm a Tiger fan) and Sam Reid where people call them stars waaaaaaaaaaaay too early.

People canning Gold Coast and talking up how GWS are going about it - think about it.

GWS recruited a number of experienced heads who have played alot of football, so they always had the potential to get more traction earlier in their life span. Gold Coast's experienced players aren't in the same mould, so they'll take alot more time to grow into their football and learning the defensive aspects of football.

Now you can argue that the leaders of GWS will help the young GWS players get better more quickly, but when those old players fall off the cliff, they'll still have plenty of work to cover for them, whereas Gold Coast don't have to cover for that because their experienced players will still be around when the rest of the team come good.

They've just done it differently to each other, only time will tell which way is better. My money is with GC.

Was wondering why Morton fell out of favour at Melbourne, todays performance has answered that question.

Round Eleven Tipping Update

Apologies for delay. Don't see any of you ****s volunteering tho, so **** ya.

Anyway, moderate to decent efforts again. Everyone was successfully suckered by the Richmond revival, but kudos to tozz who was the only one of our number to call the Swans' win over the Dons.

No tips from Vimes, so he shares the week's lowest.

Weekly

altoz 5
Brumby 4
Jono 4
skd 4
howard 4
HDS 4
Spikey 4
morgie 3

No changes in the medals, but tozz's five & weekly .01 lifts him up to fourth. A three from the Bench means he & Jono are once again locked up.
